Another incentive to play Magic. These will be shipping out very soon, so look for yours in the mail. I'm not a fan of the Damnation artwork, but the Tidings is okay and the Incinerate is hot - no pun intended.

| Tidings really sees enough play that it warrants a textless card? |

Yep. Of course Think Twice lets you cast at EOT (or whenever is convienient), and digs faster (as soon as turn two). Also, it's much harder to disrupt, as it's not worth countering and even if someone forces you to discard it, you still get a card.
Most notably though, tidings forces you to commit five mana at sorcery speed, which is something blue loves to do.
In any case, the question wasn't really about power at all. It seems originally WotC printed textless cards that were iconic (that is, almost any M:tG player is going to know what it does) both to avoid confusion and because people liked having cool versions of these "staples."
Tidings hardly meets that criteria. |

| In case you haven't noticed, they love to print cards that are just going out of t2, or were used heavily in decks that cannot be played anymore, in rewards. Helix, mana Leak, the list goes on. |

| You guys don't get it do you. Making tidings a textless card means everyones favorite red beasty is coming back. MAGNIVORE!!!! They will obviously bring him back in a coming core set along with tidings and as you all know vore was one of the few decks loving to tap out for that draw 4 spell. That damnation is spicey but it makes my foil normal ones worth less which is kind of depressing but alas you can't have it all can you? |
