In the coverage it says: "Kenji bounced a land with an Æthersnipe"

Æthersnipe can only bounce non-land permanents.

Yeah I said Illegal play because that's what it is. I didn't mean to say he was cheating. It could also be a mistake from the reporter but it seems like and odd one.
