| I am having problems with random disconnects. During games the system just disconnects on MWSnet. Is there a way to reconnect or am I missing something? |

Do not worry. It is a common problem.
I never found a way to reconnect to the same game. You usually have to close the game and reconnect to the server. |

you can go to the top menu and reconnect through the options tab. This is provided the opponent has not closed his screen.
It is best just to connect through the IP connection (this is true for tourneys)...
If you need more clarification, just let me know. You can also get an instant answer from the judges4u page on the chat rooms. |

| Thanks for the info. Im glad/ not glad to see its a common problem. I have a local IP so I cannot host, is there still a program like the old hachmi/ Hibachi/ whatever?. I haven't played at the league in 4-5 years. |

It's Hamachi, and yes it's still around. However, contrary to what twodioz said, it's much better to have both people connect to a server rather than to an IP. There are two major reasons to be getting disconnects like that... if the server you are playing on is unstable, or if your own connection is unstable. Try playing on multiple servers for awhile, and if you keep getting the disconnects it is probably your connection or router. Here is a list of some common playservers, however you will need to find an opponent to play on them as they are not typically busy, as is MWSPlay.
pavouk.square.cz
mws.ligamagic.com
mws.magic-league.com
mwsgames.net
Remember, that if you disconnect from your opponent mid-game, do not close your game window. I suggest saving the logs and then joining #judges4you in IRC. They will most likely ask you to attempt reconnection... but this way if anything goes wrong in the process, they knew what was going on before it happened and can generally provide better help. But as a general rule of thumb, if you and your opponent get disconnected, do not close your MWS screen... instead attempt reconnection.
[EDIT] I just came back from a long break, and didn't realize... but it seems that neither mws.magic-league.com or mws.ligamagic.com are available any longer. |

Actually, since connecting directly to another computer generally generates a more stable connection, I had taken to using Hamachi to connect directly with MWS during masters for a while. The reason for this was that a reconnection will very rarely work properly on a server, but when directly connected to the other play it has a much higher chance of successfully re-engaging.
I don't actually do it anymore, but it's probably worth considering. |
