| In play, Chalice costs 0. On the stack, its converted mana cost is XX, where X is the amount you decided for X. |

| if the chalice is set for four on the stack (4 and 4 is paid), would it be considered 4 or 8? |

| The CMC is XX, so if you choose X = 4 the CMC will be 8. |
