This is a deck that I've been thinking about.

4xGodless Shrine
4xOvergrown Tomb
4xTemple Garden
3xCabal Coffers
2xUrborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4xWindswept Heath
1xTainted Field
2xTainted Wood

4xBirds of Paradise
4xDuress
3xVindicate
3xPernicious Deed
3xSpiritmonger
4xGlittering Wish
4xLoxodon Hierarch
4xDamnation
3xDeath Grasp
4xEternal Witness

Sideboard

3xGerrard's Verdict
4xExtirpate
1xVindicate
1xSpiritmonger
1xPernicious Deed
1xDeath Grasp
2xDebtor's Knell
2xTeneb the Harvester

Let me know what you guys think. The deck was built originally with the idea being that Glittering Wish can be used pretty much to get just about anything you might need for just about any situation.

The sideboard actually had a few more options when I originally built it,but I'm using a friends computer and don't have the original list in front of me. Again let me know what you guys think and any suggestions are welcomed.

or maybe not. that's just a random deck with random multi-colored stuff on the sideboard <.<

loxodon hierarch can be a good target in some strategies.

You just posted a pretty bad version of the deck i've been playing the past couple of years. You have some of the right pieces, but you have yet to cabal therapy/extirpate proof your deck. Birds of Paradise is absolutely horrendous. That and you don't need 7 board sweepers maindeck.
Spiritmonger is just terrible in the main. And Eternal Witness isn't needed either. You have so much random things that are just there because they are good. The cards themselves are fine, but GOOD control decks have a little bit more subtlety to them. Like i said, this kind of deck can be successful, i know this personally. but you can't just post random cards that have been declared good and expect it to make a good deck, especially a good control deck. You need to go over your choices again and tune the deck to the metagame at hand. That and you have 0 card draw in the deck.

What the fuck are you smoking, oedi? Scarab and Culling Sun are both absolutely horrendous in extended. ummm. Mutilate much? Maybe win conditions should actually do something instead of just sit there and be useless like Scarab would. Kokusho perhaps? Helldozer?

I think Glittering Wish (the card of course) will be good on T1.X. But I dont think building a deck around this is a good idea. Btw, you deck sucks

You know, granted that some people think this deck sucks,or that this deck can't be competitive,I really have to ask,is there anyone who actually plays outside of online?

Now, I know this is going to piss some people off,and I say oh well, but just think for a minute. First of all, this deck is totally unplayable online(unless you can play it on Magics website, which I can't do right now with my computer messed up).

Second, the deck isn't quite as bad as some people think. I agree with thranarama,in that you can't just throw good cards together to make a deck. The thing is,whether people know or care I don't know, but what could be bad decisions in a deck where you play(online or at your local shop) doesn't mean that's a bad choice where the deck builder is from.

True,I have changed the deck a bit, adding Phyrexian Arena for card drawing and dropping Eternal Witness completely, also adding 3 Verdicts and leaving 1 in side, the deck runs a lot better now.

As for Birds, when did birds become horrendus? Especially when I can get an Arena,Vindicate, or a Duress and Gerrard's verdict off on turn 2. Sure late game he isn't great and probably won't do anything at all,but early game he can definitely help fix my mana. And Spiritmonger? Ok not the greatest, but can end games in a hurry if there isn't an answer for him.

As for building the deck around Glittering Wish, that was never my intention. I just thought that there could possibly be a good deck that could exploit Glittering Wish, and like many in my area, wanted to try and build a decent deck before the next rotation.

Thank you all for letting me rant a little. As for the deck,it actually is working out very good the way its built right now. Just recently won a tournament with it,even though it still needs a little help before I'm real comfortable with the deck. I guess that comes from Playing Mono-Black all these years.
