|
|
Ok, this is my 2nd attempt at a GBW death cloud. I took some of the advice and tweaked the list a bit.
Lands
1 Plains
3 Swamps
8 Forest
4 Temple Garden
4 Overgrown Tomb
2 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
Creatures
4 Birds, of paradise
4 Loxodon Hierarch
3 Eternal Witness
4 Kokusho, The Evening Star
4 Sakura Tribe Elder
Spells
2 Putrefy
2 Vindicate
2 Mortify
1 Rude Awakening
3 Crime/Punishment (Only C/P until i get deeds)
3 Death Cloud
3 Tendrils of Corruption
3 Sudden Death
SIDEBOARD
2 Bosejui, Who Shelters All
4 DeathMark
3 Kataki, War's Rage
3 Pithing Needle
3 Duress
Ok, I put in 2 of each vindicate, Mortify, and putrefy because they all have there specialts. Mortify can hit enchantmans, Vindicate hits pesty lands and putrefy can take care of the regeneration. I like the tendrils in here because i usually have a butt load of land and need the extra life if im going to be d-clouding for 8+. I almost like Crime/Punishment better than deed. They both have advantages, i would appreciate some advice on this. Well, thanks in advance for any help. |

Just some things come into my mind.
Play dredgehate in sideboard, most likely leyline.
Deed is way better then crime punishment, try to get deeds as soon as possible.
You run tons of creature hate but no real way to disrupt combo, play discard like duress/cabal therapy. I would go maindec duress, kick the 1 tendrils and 2 mortify and 1 Kokusho.
Kick the other three kokushos for senseis(of course add fetchlands then.
Thats just what came into my mind. |

Yes, deed is better in some aspects but i like being able to use crime too excepcially after a d-cloud or i kill a big creature and punishment isnt as good as deed but costs one less to play and it gives you a little more control on what to kill instead of nukeing the board. And there are more cards to stop deed...Like Krosan grip and pithing needles where with crime/punishment you just gotta worry about counters...I have looked at the ups and downs of each and are very undecided but will prolly end up getting deeds instead.
As for the maindeck duress that i a great idea...I tried to fit them in the main build but now looking at the decklist i prolly can fit them in...As for taking out the kokusho ehhh there freaken amazing and after d-clouding or throwing out another kokusho its devasting.
But, anyhow thanks for the advice and ill defenitly look into possibly getting deeds and seeing if i can fit in either therapys/duress. |

The thing is you dont realy need the Kokushos after dcloud... hierarch also sets a nice clock on the opponent + costs less mana... The Kokusho dont realy serve a purpose.

If your going to play death cloud your probably better playing signets or other artifact mana creators over at least bop maybe even sakura for synergy.
Your definatly need 4 duress 4 therapy If not you have to go the aggro rock road with troll and sofi. I belive in aggro rock runs therapy. I dont think you need deathcloud and deed in same deck, they both do pretty much the same thing.
Smother seems alot better than tendrils, which isnt to hot after a death cloud in most cases. I would prob drop the sudden deaths and tendrils for the mentioned discard package. |

| Lennin is right. No one would make a big deal over that dredge deck if it rotated in a month. No one would play Tog if it rotated in a month. No one would be playing fetches if it rotated in a month. People would prepare lists for decks that would be relevant, like Tnn, Raffinity, and possibly dragonstorm. Think about things like that before you speak next time, gunman. |

| Next Extended Rotation will be in August 2008 with Invation Block and Odissey Block Rotating out plus 7th edition on the core set I said. Dont argue anymore about this. |
