| I am using my colleges network and they have port 6667 and I was wondering if there was anyway around this so I can join the chatroom? |

| The only two solutions that you have are to either talk to your college network's administrator and ask to open 6667 (not likely), or install cgi:irc |

what is cgi mirc and where can i get it?
edit: well a UNIX based program doesn't help |

| I dont think so. Port 6667 is blocked on the router anyway to control bandwith, viruses, ''idling'' and that stuff. |

use the JAVA based one on this site... uses port 80 or 8080, or at least should.... since its embedded in the site...
also... you can change the port you use on irc...
type, for example, i just did this:
/s bsr.solidirc.com:6668
--you can use 6667,6668 for irc, this might allow you to run it.
Also.. if you set up the PROXY settings, idk if it comes default with mIrc, but it probly comes with other applications for irc. And you can probly bypass it that way. |
