Hey, This has been a project of mine for a few weeks. I first want to say it is not good yet. I know this. The question I have is how to improve it. I also would like to have some MTG theory discussion, I will post these questions after the deck.
=============THE DECK===========
Non-Essential or easily removable cards are marked
Land Base:
3x Underground Sea
2X Tundra
4X Flooded Strand
4X Polluted Delta
4X Mishras Factory
1X Tabernacle (NON ESSENTIAL)
Creatures:
4X Trinket Mage
4X Phyrexian Dreadnought
Artifact:
2X Helm of Awakening
3X Sensei's Divining Top
1X Tormods Crypt
Spells:
1X Dark Ritual (NON ESSENTIAL)
2X CounterBalance (NON ESSENTIAL)
3X Orims Chant (NON ESSENTIAL)
1X Duress (NON ESSENTIAL)
4X TrickBind
2X Tendrils of Agony
4X Daze
4X Force of Will
4X Stifle
SideBoard:
4X Leyline of Void
4X Pithing Needle
4X Blue Elemental Blast
3X Dark Confident
I marked cards that can easily be pulled, obviously other changes are availible. I am looking on your thoughts of how to improve this deck.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Theory Question:
1. Are dual combo decks every workable?
2. Besides the Trinket synergy Crypt vs Leyline?
3. Thoughts on Tabernacles place in legacy? |

I didn't test it and I hate when people leave bad commentaries, but, I just don't understand how you can do 20 dmg with a tendril in this deck. It seems like a deck from a guy scared by combo who don't really know how work combo. This deck can't win.
You should maybe tune the deck to be able to kill with creatures. So with Trinket it will be a deck like Solution in T1.X. It's the only way that I see lol.
N.B 4 Stifle + 4 Trinkbind lost to a gigatrowse lol
-Remove the Trickbinds or put many in SB
-Forget the thing about Storm
Why do you run 4 Leyline of the void if you run tormods Main deck? You should add just 1 other tormods in sb.
-Blue elemental blast are useless, you will be better with Chill
-Add dark confidant Main deck instead of tendril maybe
-Maybe a creatur like dimir compulse or something like that can help.
I think you're a little bit too afraid of T1.5. The only thing that your actual deck does is; you will not loose in turn one or two haha. And it's really rare to loose turn 1 or 2 in t1.5. If it happen, the deck will be not consistant and not competitive.
Last advice, you should maybe stop rogue decking in t1.5 if you worked more then 5second on this list. Well... I'm not happy to say that. Good Luck!

The fact is, this mecanic is good in a deck who can actualy win a game. I don't see how you can win expt attack 10 times with trinket. Ill stop to post here, you will see that I'm a good guy because you will receive many bad commentary if you don't update your list

| You need to focus your deck down to one idea. Either you run Dreadnought Fish or you run Iggy-Pop/TES... you can't run both. This is because the two ideas are not synergistic, they are in fact mutually exclusive. |

I'll be harsh on your list. To start it's terrible, one ofs such as Dark Ritual and Duress, if you want to play combo then play it. Phyrexian Dreadnought with Stifle? In a Storm deck? Not making sense. You may want to try this list which plays Future Sight and Helm of Awakening for infinite.
4 Force of Will
4 Brainstorm
4 Sensei's Divining Top
4 Counterbalance
3 Swords to Plowshares
4 Cunning Wish
3 Enlightened Tutor
1 Moat
4 Counterspell
4 Wrath of God
1 Helm of Awakening
1 Future Sight
1 Brain Freeze
1 Seat of the Synod
4 Flooded Strand
3 Polluted Delta
4 Tundra
1 Ancient Den
8 Island
1 Plains
1 Swords to PLowshares
1 Enlightened Tutor
1 Brain Freeze
1 Misdirection
1 Pithing Needle
1 Jester's Cap
1 Rushing River
1 Pulse of the Grid
1 Pulse of the Fields
1 Seal of Cleansing
1 Tormod's Crypt
1 Dismantling Blow
1 Fact or Ficition
1 Argivian Find
1 Morphling
Win condition is obvious there you go. If you are interested in Dreadnought + Stifle/Mask play Vintage. |

contextually define mutually exclusive... I dont understand how they are impossible to have at the same time...
THe synergy is in the trinket mage. This build could feasible just be a stifle Dreadnought deck if you took out the 2 tendrils and you took out the ritual and hte 2 helms. It wouldnt be impessive but it wouldnt be an unworkable build. Adding the Sensei Storm takes up a total of 5 slots and allows for an alternative win.
EDIT: I am defending the deck to foster discussion. I am hoping for critisism... |

| I highly advise you make this a more fish based deck that would run stifle anyway and possibly just run the counterbalance/top, trinket/top, and trinket/dn combos. So basically add Bob, jotun grunt, meddling mage, and maybe even dimir cutpurse for just some suggestions. |

So I took suggestions into mind and built this.
Land Base:
4X Underground Sea
3X Tundra
4X Flooded Strand
4X Polluted Delta
4X Mishras Factory
Creatures:
4X Trinket Mage
1X Phyrexian DN
3X Dark Confident
4X Meddling Mage
2X Voidmage Prodigy
Artifact:
1X Helm of Awakening
3X Sensei's Divining Top
1X Tormods Crypt
Spells:
2X CounterBalance
3X Tendrils of Agony
4X Daze
4X Force of Will
3X Stifle
2X Disrupt
2X Muddle the Mixture
1X Pithing Needle
1X Serum Vision
SideBoard
3X pithing needle
1X leyline of the Void
1X tormods crypt
4X chill
3X swords to plowshare
3X trickbind
Let me emphasis this build is still not particularly stong, but it is doing much better. I will continue to tweek and post a new version in a bit. |

So, I play tested all night and did some thinking... Here is a refined version.
Land Base:
4X Underground Sea
4X Watery Grave
4X Flooded Strand
4X Polluted Delta
4X Mishras Factory
Creatures:
4X Trinket Mage
1X Phyrexian DN
4x Dark Confident
Artifact:
1X Helm of Awakening
3X Sensei's Divining Top
1X Tormods Crypt
1X Pithing Needle
Spells:
2X CounterBalance
4X Tendrils of Agony
4X Daze
4X Force of Will
4X Stifle
2X Disrupt
3X Muddle the Mixture
2x Tainted Pact
SideBoard
3X pithing needle
1X leyline of the Void
1X tormods crypt
4X Engineered Plague
2X Crucible of Worlds
2X trickbind
2X Cruel Edict
This version is working MUCH better. I am certain there are still bad decisions in it.
For example, Edict is almost for sure a bad call, what should replace it, as something to slow creature decks...I Like it as a 2CC slot but its not particularly stong...
I would like to add that this deck just won a 12 person legacy mini... Thats a totaly minor thing but, thats its only official competitive play so... |
