This is my Angelfire deck....I am just getting it together and was wonder if how it looks. I don't have much time to play test right now so I was looking for some pointers for the deck and SB.

t2 decks with true dual lands will not cut it in 1.5
I cant imagine you playing a respectable 1.5 and being alive long enough to cast take possession.
Also serring meditation is terrible, its was not even good enough for block play.
i could see you maybe having a decent match up against goblin or some sort of silly 1.5 aggro, but not much else. |

I would recommend looking at the extended builds of trinket angel, and trying to port them. Here are my reasons:
1. Your spells are way, way too expensive. Let's look at your mana curve
1 cc = 8
2cc = 4
3cc = 6
4cc = 8
5cc = 4 (yes, pact of negation acutally costs 5...)
6cc = 4
7cc = 2
You'll never live long enough to play your firemanes and take posessions... and without any discard mechanism, you will never gain any life off of it.
2. What do you plan to do against the combo decks which win on turns 1-2 (Epic Storm, Iggy Pop, Belcher, Ichorid)? These decks are becoming much more prevalent in legacy metagames.
3. What do you do against the threshold decks which play creatures you can't normally handle (mongoose, tarmogoyf), and can easily counter ever relevant card you want to play because the deck is so slow?
4. How do you answer burn? Your only life gain is Helix, and Story Circle/Ivory Mask are a turn too slow to matter.
5. What do you do against goblins? You have no card drawing engine to keep up with their ability to play matrons into ringleaders into 2-3 goblins... into more ringleaders? You should be able to withstand one assault... but you can't draw your way into handling the others. |
