| I am helping someone tune OmniChord for the local meta. Can you use Chord of Calling to play a guy with kicker and pay for the Kicker? I was thinking Ana Battlemage and Thornscape Battlemage as one of's on the sideboard. True this would be very expensive on mana but they have very good 187 abilities. |

| No. The Kicker Cost is payed as you play the card. Chord of Calling doesn't play the creature(pay costs of creature, put it on stack, etc.) it just puts it into play. You never get the chance to -play- the creature, so you never get the chance to pay for kicker costs either. |

| That is a shame about that. Both of the cards would have been great tutor targets. |
