I have a Uw deck in legacy that tries to lock the opponent with winter orb while using relic barrier to grant yourself untap steps under the orbs. Uses various other cards to assemble the pieces and counters to protect it. What i need to know is. What should the finisher be? I have compiled a list of plausible options and just need some opinions. Heres the list:

Alabaster dragon
Avenging angel
Blinking spirit
Eternal dragon
Iridescent Angel
Meloku the clouded mirror
Morphling
Rainbow Efreet

these options were by either being A) recurring threats )like eternal dragon), B) just really powerful (like meloku) or C) hard to remove from the board (such as morphling)

now im sure i have missed a few of the other viable options, so go ahead and suggest other guys. I just need to know what the best finisher would be.

I can limit it down to two. I like recurring beats so eternal dragon however meloku has more synergy with your deck since you will be able to play a land untapped every turn if need be. If it comes down to it I think eternal is the better call though.

Yeah i'd play both because eternal can also land cycle if you need it and meloku just flat out pwns.

I think that the best finisher is a matter of preferance. I would play 1-3 copies of .Morphling and 4 Stalking Stones. I have also found Tef and man lands to be good as well. The best option is to splash red for Fire/Ice on the stick. It is so good.

I guess that what I am saying is find a finisher that fits your play style and your build. You do need to play 7-8 threats in any good control deck.

you dont really need 7-8 threats in a barrier/orb/port and stuff lockdown deck.

Either play Teferi if you intend on fighting High Tide, or play Smurfling to blank their spot removal.

That keep them from playing Turnabout and Reset. That is a great idea!

In my last Winter Orb deck (when it was standard legal Shocked ) I played 3 Rainbow Effret, 4 Phrexian War Beast, and 4 Stalking Stones. It was a UWr control-lock build with the good stuff. STP, Incinerate, Counterspell, Disenchant, Pyroclasm, Wrath of God, Capsize, and FoW. It was great vs everything but combo decks.

Winter Orb + Tap effect is so 1994.

It seems like Stasis would just be better. Is Gush legal in Legacy?

R3wind, that list looks pretty rough. 0 Force of Will? 0 card-drawing spells? 6 -1 CA Tutors without a single silver bullet? Arcanis (he's very cute in t2, but this is LEGACY. The power level is just a little bit higher)? Stalking Stones over Factory seems suspect, too. Paying mana once is nice, but being able to block stuff early is probably better, especially since Factory is essentially the same size as Stones when playing defense.

As for a finisher, if you're deadset on U/W Orb, how about Exalted Angel? I think it's better than everything you listed, at least.

No grave control in the meta or sb is one hosed deck.
