| Cycling doesn't count as a spell because it is an ability. Channel, Morph and Suspend(when you suspend it) work in the same manner. Also note that the storm copies don't count towards your storm count because they aren't play, they are put directly on the stack. |

when you play a morph, that does count as a spell |

| True true. I was thinking about abilities that let you play stuff alternatively but for got the wording on morph. |

The storm count is only increased when spells gets played, abilities are not spells and thus don't increase it.
Cycling is an activated ability that uses the stack normally.
Channel is an activated ability too and uses the stack.
Suspend is a whole bunch of abilities. Suspending a card (removing it from the game with time counters) is a special action that doesn't use the stack. But when the last counter is removed it is played and does increase the storm count.
Playing a creature face-down is still playing a creature spell, so that increases the storm count too. |
