Quagnoth its a racks enemy, but i want to be sure about this:
if my opponent causes to i discard a card, and i choose my quagnoth, quagnoth meas:
"When a spell or ability an opponent controls causes you to discard Quagnoth, return it to your hand."
Can my opponent play an extirpate on it before it returns to my hand?
if that its right we are lost and darkness will domain!!! |

I'm not a judge but I m pretty sure about this :
To return to hand, Quagnoth has to go in graveyard (it's not said it goes into your hand INSTEAD).
So, yes you can extirpate a Quagnoth. It still a pain in the ass for MBC, though (once it hits the field MBC is screwed if he doesn'T have a Tombstalker and/or Damnation (and it t2, Cruel Edict) |

| Well, it's a triggered ability of Quagnoth, not a replacement effect, so if the rack player manages to hit Quagnoth with a discard spell, puts the trigger on the stack, then extirpates targeting it, it'll get extirpat-ified. |

| both statements are true...im not a judge either...but when quagnoth is put into your graveyard from your hand due to an opponents effect its ability will trigger and go onto the stack, then your opponent has a window of opportunity to make any responses.i.e (extripate) and then all effects are resolved. |
