|
|
EDIT: Release scheduled in the 10th ED. prerelease weekend.
Other than bug fixes and some interface improvements, the new features of the new release are:
- Load MTG Game (yes, it's back)
What this did and once again does is allow you to load a game file (you'd be able to download them from the website when the time comes) and watch the entire game the way it was played, including the chat (I was gonna "censor" this out, but a lot of people use the chat to control game flow, like "pass", "ok?", "eot", etc).
That way, in the future, you can watch all the top 8, 4 and finals matches of any trial or maybe even the Master and share your thoughts about the match on the fora.
This feature has a manual option, so you can click your way through the game or turn on a little interval timer, so you can just sit back in your lazy chair and watch the game on your PC or TV (if you have TV-OUT)
- Sealed (Server feature)
There will be several commands for downloading a sealed package, either complete (1 starter 2 booster) or just a single booster. These packages will be saved on your harddrive as a GO .deck file, so you can easily edit them in the mtg-deckbuilder. These commands may be locked behind a flag or have the requirement that a player is at a table, but the final vote on that is not in yet.
- Deckbuilder (Open for append)
Suppose you have 3 of those booster packs and you want to merge them into one cardpool.. Simply open one and open the other 2 for append. This can also be used for any other decks you may wish to merge (maybe you have a "sideboard deck" you want to add to a deck without a sideboard?)
- Multiplayer (Teamed and Free for All)
Hopefully the crash bug will be gone by the new release, if it isn't, it should be the last real nasty bug left in the game, so it would be something I can give my full attention to (Im talking about the "not enough resources to process this command" error, wich is MS windows related)
Anyway, It will be possible to play 2HG or make a table with an even number of players for a game of free for all.
The even requirement will stay for the time being, but maybe it'll be possible to play with an odd number of people some day. This is due to the fact that the teams need to have an equal amount to players in order to issue a challenge.
Gonna press submit now, might edit later, boss is coming

| I might start giving GO a look now. The multiplayer options are really cool. If I remember correctly, only a certain amount of people were able to make an "account" for GO, is this still the case? Is there anything else I should have before downloading GO (mIRC, etc)? |

nico is the master user for the server, but i noticed he set the server to allow more registrations, if you have problems with connecting or anything else server related, contact nico
you need a proper windows install, as some basic dll files that come with windows are needed to download card images
and a proper internet connection.
you also might want to idle in channel #GO (/join #GO) on IRC (irc.solidirc.com)
All for now, back to work... |

i like the new version...its quite a nifty piece of work.
My favorite thing is that now i don't have to play solitair mode against the same deck like in the eval version of mws.
the thing i don't like is that combat is a bit tricky...maybe i just don't know how but i think i can play a spell like holy day or whatever to prevent all combat damage during combat damage step but it doesn't let me see my hand. I understand during declare attack or declare block but i think after that you should be able to see your hand
thats my comments...keep up the good work...this thing could really take off |

by seeing your hand do you mean that the cards are face down?
if you mean that you can only see the bottom part of the cards, there is a trick you can pull to
"pull the hand on the opposite side of the table down"
0.)
Create a new theme by Saving the current theme with a new name
Go to Themes -> Save current theme, enter a name, press OK or hit enter. This way the old theme wont be affected.
1.) Start a solitaire Game, any kind
2.) Switch to theme edit mode (Themes -> Edit in Place) hmm, should change that name...w/e
3.) Somewhere in the center you see the popup menu demo
4.) Go to "More options", a submenu folds out, click on "TableTop Settings"
5.) In the Top Left, you see "Pull my hand up" and "Push Opp hand down"
6.) Change these values, you'll see change instantly
7.) Close the config window
8.) Now you have a theme for when you want to see the hands completely.
You can switch back to your old theme by loading it.
Remember: When you want to create a new theme, first thing you do is save the current theme with a new name, that will be your new theme. If you start editting the current theme, the current theme changes will remain, even after you save with a new name (this is subject to change) |
