Dodecapod, the best SB card?

3 out of 4 of the undefeated decks at GP Montreal have at least trips Dodecapod in their boards.
Was MBC suspected to be that prominent, or is it mainly for Haunting Hymns against Teferi decks?

It just so happens that a big portion of the metagame in Montreal was Korlash Control or Black Discard, both which use a lot of discard spell. Additionally, Dodecapod is a great response to Dismal Failure. I personally played 3 Dedecapods and 4 Guerrilla Tactics in my sideboard.

Opponent turn 2 augur of skulls pass.

turn 3 he sacs augur,you discard 2 Dodecapods,2 attacks and you win the game.

With that much MBC in block...it's def worth it.

Much more likely turn 4 he casts damnation, but he's still down 10 points, and free 5/5s are better than random cards in the yard.
