Sup ya'll
Im just about done with a new booster system (no print runs yet), so I was starting to think what people need to see when sittn' at a draft table.
thus far, I can up with this:
Picked Cards:
Either in list (like library) form or with actual drawn cards (like you see in play) or both? (would be an option)
(Remainder of) Booster Pack:
This would be shown like your hand is now, with actual cards in a row, you can either doubleclick to pick one, drag and drop to Picked Cards or use a rightmouse popup menu.
So far for the basics.. now on to the details
Pass direction: The direction in wich you pass off your remainder cards.
Color chart: How many picks of red have I made? How many of U/W guild mana? etc.
Type chart: How many creatures have I picked? How many instants? etc.
Cost chart: AKA Manacurve
PT chart: How many 1/1's, how many 5+Pwr creatures etc.
For the pass direction I wanted to make a box where you can see all the names, just in a simple list, no picture of a table with chairs or that kinda nonsense. An arrow would show in wich direction the boosters are going.
For the charts I'd like to make chart boxes, maybe pie chart is not a good idea for anything other than color.
So it'll be something like this
----------------
|=========== 11|
|===== 5|
|============= 13|
-----------------
Anyway, If you have ideas, requests, tips, graphics to use (maybe icons for all the types would be nice) you can just spam in this thread. |

Sounds nice, got plenty of info if you successfully coded it, good luck!
How about using Future Sight timeshifted icons for the type? You know, the claw (creature), lightning (instant) etc. Unfortunately I dont have cropped img of them. Maybe someone can photoshopped it?
And now this may sounds silly, but don't forget the timer function, and random pick in case somebody timed out while choosing or somehow afk. |

Maybe its better if the game auto-pauses when someone drops then the host has to manually unpause to get it started again.
Don't forget the kick/ban option as well. |

| I really like how magic online does drafting in which you can hide/view your picks. The only reason you'd want to hide is that's how normal drafting is done so it's good practice. |

Agreed, Drafting in MTGO is pretty easy to grasp, but i think Jorbes' idea of no only showing picks, but also stats about cards picked is good too.
It really needs a nice drag and drop deckbuilding interface though, not just in library form.
Also like the idea of names instead of a table. the table GUI form is a waste of space in MTGO in my opinion. A textbox and some facy arrows would do the trick. maybe a 2x4 datatable? |

The idea was to be able to move cards from sideboard and library (drag&drop, popup, w/e).
Also, the ability to add a number of basic land to the library (not sure if you are allowed to start with extra basic land in sideboard... anyone?)
Then, It would be possible to save the current library and sideboard to a deck file. And the games can begin.

It would be an x by y datatable, since drafting should be possible for 2 to 10 players |

That one wont have draft though,
Draft and chaos multiplayer are scheduled for a post 1.0 release and will be finalized in the 1.5 final. |
