here is my deck for regionals:

21x swamp
1x urza's factory
1x blood crypt
1x demonfire
1x tombstalker
1x extirpate
1x twisted abomination
2x persecute
3x rakdos signet
4x phyrexian arena
4x gauntlet of power
4x consume spirit
4x diabolic tutor
4x damnation
4x tendrils of corruption
4x korlash, heir to blackblade

side board
3x extirpate
4x shadow of doubt
1x shimian specter
3x deathmark
2x nekrataal
2x cruel edict

the game plan for this deck is pretty obvous, play gauntlet, then consume spirit for a lot. the demonfire is in there because of #1 hellbent ablity, #2 reason is cop black (there have been people who play that card, and it has happened to me). the shimian specter in the side is for non-blue based controll decks.

please post segestions on the deck. no negative seggestions like "this deck sucks burn it".

p.s. i am not going to put skelltal vampire in so don't tell me to.

Well as much as i hate seeing this and Bridge.

I must say the build looks pretty solid.

And i agree Vamp does not always make black better same with BoB.

Thus the Strangla has spoken

detritivore is a nice tutor target, and maybe dimir house guard would be a cheaper tutor for korlash, tendrlis, damnation, nightmare void, presecute....

Ok, don't play a good deck. By the way, I love your innovative spelling of suggestion.

put dimir guildmage in sb vs blue control.
shimian is bad as they'll just counter it.

you should consider sudden death(there will be a lot of dranlu) and something against dragonstorm, like shadow of doubt or stupor

i like the detritivore idea

good luck at regionals

Skeletal Vampire with Gauntlet is so powerful that it is almost cheating. How, exactly does it "not work" for your deck?

You have no defence before turn 4, or turn 3 if you draw one of your 3 signets. If you are on the draw, that will kill you. You have autoloss vs counterdecks, Dragonstorm and other combo decks, and a bad matchup vs Gruul. You need to address these decks:

Izzetron
Dralnu
Dragonstorm
Gruul
Heavy discard + rack decks (MBA, BW, BR etc)
Dredge

And to be frank, you do not.

I don't say that Gauntlet tech is not viable, just that you need to rework your deck so that it has at least a snowball's chance in hell against the leading archetype decks in the format.

why do you sideboard cruel edict? Or Shimian Specter? Why not play a single skeletal vampire?

Tombstalker is aweful compared to vampire...

Don't get offended just listen to what lots of good players are saying. Play 1 vampire, and maybe run a few silver bullets you can tutor for. Here is a list of a few:

Mirari, Was always a good one of in mono black control

Vampire, Yeah i know you hate him, but seriously he is a good one of.

Also if you ask me last gasp is pretty much better than deathmark- You cant touch more than half of a gruul deck with deathmark.

And I'm not sure how exactly you deal with dredge at all, if you think a couple extirpate will win against them your sadly mistaken.

Also Shimian specter is terrible vs non blue based control as they tend to run removal... unless you have a different definition of "non blue based control"

You're playing black and no LeyLine of the Void in the sideboard?? boo

Also, as suggested, Skeletal Vampire is just unfair in this deck.. Gauntlet to get a bunch of mana and then your tokens become 2/2s.. It becomes a better token maker than Urza's Factory!!

I also don't see a Sudden Death anywhere in here... How do you plan to kill the Teferis, Vampires, Dralnus, and others of the world??

Also, as suggested again, you should be running a combination of Last Gasp, or something main deck to try to combat Gruul

and some discard early game to try to beat dragonstorm

Augur of Skulls is a decent choice: It helps against aggro and control decks

Cheers,
