|
|
| I just started going to this new cardshop, and these people play with this weird as rule, even in DCI sanctioned tourneys. For example if Cloudchaser Kestrel targeted Icatian Javelineers with its make it white ability, the Javelineers would then be "Pearl White" and gain pro white and something else. Is this something extremely knew that I haven't heard of or are those people retarded? |

| That is totally not a rule. You either got straight up lied to for a win or if those are the local rules at that shop they need to loose their dci sanction |

Similarly under Traitor's Clutch a black creature will gain "Jet Black". It has SHADOW because of how black it gets, and you get permanent "Darkness", creatures do not deal combat damage.
With Disciple of Kangee you can make a blue creature "Sapphire Blue", they gain Islandwalk and drink blue powerade to get +3/+3 but -1/-1 during your upkeep. |

Jeez. Talk about the ultimate Jedi Mind Trick. "Hey I just drew for my turn. That means you lose."
Next time you play at that store maybe you should take a hardcopy of the Comp Rules or show them the link to it.

| You guys think that's bad, there's a store near where I live that doesn't know what the 'stack' is. They think it's the first person to annouce a spell has it resolve. So like in a counter war you have to annouce a counterspell within a couple of seconds or their spell will resolve. It's quite funny how many house rules or made-up rules people have for this game. |

Reminds me of how we used to play before one of us read the comp. rules.
Player plays a spell / ability...
Other player goes like: "Before you do that... I do this and this"
We were all noobs once. |

Personally I think kaiser is full of shit and making this up. It does remind me however of when I got back into magic around 5th dawn. I responded to a spell by announcing a "fast effect". All the kids around the table were like... what the hell is that... look how is lands are in front of his creatures!!! So, technically I wasn't a noob once. I was a noob twice . |

I remember when I first started to play, 'lethal damage' was toughness or life + 1. Yes, that means to kill a 2 toughness creature, you would have to lightning bolt it and shock wouldn't kill it.
Everyone in my group was like 'wtf, that makes no sense' because we all learned at the same time from this one kid who was playing since beta (this was during urza's block). |
