Ok. We tried a tournament a few nights ago, and although I lost in the first round, it was fun. So, in turn, I decided to go ahead and try and popularize it. Here is all of the information you need for a tribal deck.

#TRIBAL is where you can find games and tournaments

RULES

1- Decks must be at least 60 cards.

2- Sideboards are NOT allowed. If a deck has a sideboard, please remove it before joining a tourney.

3- Zombie, Goblin, and Elf based decks are banned for the simple fact that they are good OUT of tribal format. Let alone them playing in such a restricted format.

4- Examples of some creature types are birds, dwarves, clerics, angels, thrulls, rats, spirits, cats, walls, vampires, soldiers, humans, beats, moonfolk, specters, horrors, minions, shamans, kavu, giants, dragons, drakes, beasts, samurai, trolls, mystics, snakes, monks, insects, slivers, bringers, zubera, and wizards.

5- Decks must fit stated format!!

6 You can have multiple colors.

7- Decks must have at least 1/3 of a certain creature type. This number is always rounded up. We'll use clerics for example. If you have a deck of 60 cards, your deck has to have at least 20 clerics. If your deck has anywhere from 60-63 cards, you must have at least 21 clerics.

BAN LIST

Unnatural Selection
Engineered Plague
Tsabo's Decree
Circle of Solace
Endemic Plague
Peer Pressure
Skullclamp
Extinction
Slate of Ancestry
Artificial Evolution

Your deck can not have Elves, Zombies, or Goblins as the main creature type.

Please reply with any suggestions for more banned cards.

isochron scepter for sure cuz peopel are just palying the nationals champ iso-chant/fire deck with wizards or whatever.

shared triumph? prolly not, not that bad.

and i thought old tribal required all creatures? or 30+ creatures. i don't mind it like this, like it's cool to think of a tribe of whatevers and they all carry iso scepters and have certain spells.

well whatevs, theres enough spots for artifact/enchantment removal it should be aight

i like playing tribes but idk y elves goblins and zombies are banned? i mean sure they're good but at least we know wat our metagame should be and not only that but of the top 4 decks only one of them was elves while the rest were diverse. thus elves, goblins, and zombies should be allowed.
P.S. i don't play elves, goblins, or zombies so there

Maybe the other tribal decks are afraid of goblins, elves, and zombies... and they should be.

There's this little thing called taunting elf. It makes all creatures that block, block it. When there are 15 other elves attacking as well, you just got one-shotted.

I don't know why zombies are banned.

Goblins are too fast and easy to play.

Yeah, when did Zombies last top8 in any respectable tourney online or off? Incidentally, Countersliver even has a favorable game against goblins, which does (or did) win tourneys.

Then there's this little thing called Pyroclasm that says "Target Elf deck loses." There's another little thing called Sandstorm. A third called Hailstorm, a fourth called Simoon, ... Wink

Elves are just too small. They're still a good tribe because of synergy and overall speed, but Taunting Elf is the least of your worries when playing against elves. When an Elf deck combos off, you will not have enough blockers anyway unless you're playing Storm. Or Elves.

Since this seems to be an extremely informal format definition, I'd suggest either replacing Zombies with Slivers or adding Slivers to the banlist.
