GW Scryb & Force
8 Forest
7 Plains
4 Terramorphic Expanse
4 Gemstone Mine
4 Scryb Ranger
4 Spectral Force
3 Mire Boa
3 Hedge Troll
3 Saffi Eriksdotter
2 Timbermare
4 Thrill of the Hunt
4 Call of the Herd
4 Mana Tithe
3 Stonewood Invocation
3 Griffin Guide
Sideboard
3 Mystic Enforcer
2 Stonecloaker
1 Timbermare
3 Temporal Isolation
2 Rebuff the Wicked
1 Pull from Eternity
1 Krosan Grip
1 Disenchant
1 Seal of Primordium
This mid-range aggro deck advantages by the synergies given by the Scryb Ranger(Spectral Force) and Saffi(Timbermare)
UG Scryb & Force
9 Forest
4 Island
4 Terramorphic Expanse
4 Gemstone Mine
1 Pendelhaven
4 Scryb Ranger
4 Looter il-Kor
4 Spectral Force
4 Wall of Roots
4 Timbermare
2 Groundbreaker
1 Body Double
4 Call of the Herd
4 Search for Tomorrow
4 Psionic Blast
3 Stonewood Invocation
Sideboard
4 Mystic Snake
3 Spike Feeder
3 Vesuvan Shapeshifter
1 Body Double
1 Groundbreaker
2 Seal of Primordium
1 Krosan Grip
Mor traditional variant of Scryb & Force. Since there are no good counterspells for the mid range Aggro decks, it doesn't play any. The Wall of Roots might seem contradictory but is better in the curve than Yavimaya Dryad. |

I started testing this deck today, in order to have some knowhow of block before I jump into a GP trial.
Im not playing Timbermare, since that seems a win more to me atm. I soon will give it a try though. Also i dislike the gemstones, when you miss mana accel it seriously impairs the t5 spectral. Im gonna give them a try as well, when I find that the colors aren't that great.
I prefer Vesuvan Sshapeshifter over Body Double. Maybe Body Double could come in handy after Mass Removal, it'll depend on how much of that im seeing. The looter seems to miss synergy, other than CotH. Carddraw isn't bad though, another thing to test.
At the moment im playing both Wall of Roots and the Dryad, for the fast Force (Search for Tomorrow as well).
Concerning the board: Obv a lot will depend on what the metagame is, and at the moment I'm not too sure what too expect.
I chose for some more controllish stuff like snapback, cancel, mystic snake, serrated arrows and even hail storm. Dunno wheiter WW gets much play, but hailstorm should fend of the first hordes.
I'm looking forward to test this deck, as I really like the way it plays.
Let's get some discussion going. |

Timespiral is all about old cards getting reprinted, there's actually a whole subset of them.
Guess who's in? |

Play both wall of roots and dryad, and 4 shapeshifter mainboard. Its only one of the best cards printed in block so far |

This is my current GW Scryb & Force Deck:
Land:21
4x Horizon Canopy
8x Forest
7x Plains
2x Terramorphic Expanse
Creatures:20
4x Tarmogoyf
4x Hedge Troll
4x Scryb Ranger
4x Spectral Force
4x Epochrasite
spells:19
3x Call of the Herd
4x Judge Unworthy
4x Griffin Guide
4x Stonewood Invocation
4x Evolution Charm
SB:15
4x disenchant
3x Calciderm
4x Pull from Eternity
4x Rebuff the Wicked
I have found that with the current mana base GW is by far the easiest and most effective way to go w/ the Scryb & Force deck (blue is also possible, butt this is beatdown, not control). As far as the mana base goes it is pretty simple. The only thing is i have seen others play more Terramorphic Expanses than what I do, but I simply hate come into play tapped, but they do level out the mana , and feed the 'goyfs. I also decided not to play timbermane b/c I found it not to be as effective as I would like, and rarely sticks around (dead card against mirror). I also like evolution charm over Search for Tomorrow b/c of its 2cc and versatility. I wasn't sure about the Epochrasites until I playtested them, and then I fell in love; it is card advantge, hates blink, and laughs at damnation. Decided to go w/ Griffin guides b/c I love to fly, its card advantage, it also hates on Damnation, as well as feeds my 'goyfs. The Judge Unworthys were a pretty simpe choice; ALL decks need some type of removal, it is at instant speed, allows you to scy (incredable in a deck w/ no draw or search), cheap, and can't be disenchanted or blinked away. Calciderm is in my SB as an anti blink/control card, and everything else is self explanatory.
All in all its a pretty simple, straight to the point, kick U in the face deck that is hard to beat. |
