I need to figure out what's going to happen with these card combinations.
For example, if I have Confusion in the Ranks in play, and I play a Hunted Dragon while no other creatures are in play, what will the outcome be? Will I be left with 1 knight and he has the Dragon + 2 knights? Same goes for all the other "hunted" creatures, too much "come into play" text is confusing me x_x
I'm thinking this is what happens:
- I play Hunted Dragon, CitR activates and goes on the stack, along with the 3 knights clause on top of that.
- The 3 knights come into play, and their CitR activation goes on the stack.
- Knight #1 swaps for dragon, Knight #2 swaps for Knight #1, and Knight #3 swaps for Knight #2
- The Hunted Dragon CitR goes off, and he has to trade his Hunted Dragon for my knight.
So in the end it's like nothing ever happened? I dunno this is confusing me to the max.
Thanks in advance.

thats how i see it presuming that there arent any better creatures for your opponent to choose from.
the moral of the story is that 2x confusion in teh ranks is better then 1 and gating creatures are awesome |

I might be wrong but I don't think that's how it works. so you have one confusion in the ranks and no creatures in play:
Hunted dragon comes into play
Two triggered abilites (confusion and dragon) trigger
You can choose to stack them whichever way you want. Since there are no legal targets for the confusion trigger when you decide to stack that trigger, it can't target anything and so fizzles. then the hunted dragon ability resolves and three knights come into play under your opponent's control. Their three triggers each target the hunted dragon. Knight #1 switches with the hunted dragon and then the next two knights triggers fizzle because the dragon is no longer a legal target.
Again, I may be wrong but if I'm not the final result would be: you have 1 knight, your opp has dragon and 2 knights.
Basically my reasoning is: the hunted creature can't target anything with its trigger because nothing is in play to target when its confusion trigger goes on the stack. Then one of the creatures the hunted creature makes will exchange with the hunted creature and the rest will stay where they are because the hunted creature is no longer a "permanent another player controls". |

this would be right, except when you said 'the next two knight triggers fizzle'. The next knight trigger trades a knight for a knight, and the next knight trigger trades a knight for a knight.
So same result, but its knight #3 that whoever cast the hunted gets to keep. opposed to knight #1. |

Here’s what happens:
1) Hunted Dragon comes into play. Two things trigger simultaneously: Hunted Dragon and Confusion in the Ranks. Assuming you are the controller of Confusion in the Ranks, you can choose to stack these in whichever order you prefer.
2) However, it doesn’t really matter. Confusion in the Ranks’ trigger will be removed from the stack due to lack of legal targets.
3) The knight trigger resolves. This sets up three Confusion in the Ranks triggers. They must choose their target, but only one legal target exists: Hunted Dragon.
4) The first knight is traded with the dragon. At this point, the other two Confusion in the Ranks triggers fizzle, because their target is no longer legal (the dragon is no longer controlled by another player).
Thus, you’ll wind up with one knight facing two knights and a dragon.

Actually, you’re wrong. The triggers must choose their targets when they go on the stack; as all three knights come into play simultaneously, all three triggers must choose their targets simultaneously. Therefore, they all must choose to target the dragon, and once the dragon is swapped, the swapfest ends. |
