I'm just curious what the official m-l policy is in this type of situation. I won't say it happens "often" but it's not rare, either.
How long should you wait when you sign up for a mini, and then the TC leaves/DCs/goes idle or doesn't pair or respond for whatever reason?
I'm curious because recently I took a match loss for not showing up, when there was over 30 minutes between the time the mini filled and the TC actually paired. |

Message your TC,
join #judges4you
I'd wait 20 minutes for pairings. The TC might be dealing with issues, like a DQ investigation, an extension might've been given out or other stuff. |

If it's before round one (meaning the entries have closed), a few minutes pending slow internet connection of the TC. In the rare instance that the TC isn't pairing and there is no reason why s/he is not, message the TC/let the judges in #judges4you know.
If it's between round one and round two of a trial, ten to twenty minutes because there are always issues in trials.
If it's between round two and three or round three and four of a trial, maybe ten minutes for the occasional argument in #judges4you for a game/match-deciding ruling.
If it's a mini, I'd cut those times in half. Sometimes a delay will occur, so we ask that you remain patient. |

| I think worst is waiting for pairings in Master last is one turn for 2,5 hours. Cann´t you do something with this. i´m from europe and i must drop, because it is to late and that is horrible when i have for example 5-0. |

| If you've signed up and the message is "The tournament has filled, the TC should pair soon" there's no option to drop. |

| If you have the time to sit and play 3 rounds of a mini then you have time to wait for pairings. |

1. You're assuming I had 3+ hours and was going to play all three rounds. There's no reason to assume that.
2. You're assuming that if I had 3 hours to play all three rounds, I must have had more than three hours, to play the rounds and wait an abnormally long time for pairings. There's no reason to assume that either.
3. You're assuming that since I wanted to spend my free time playing some M:tG online, I also wouldn't mind spending my free time staring at a blank screen doing nothing, instead. Nope, no reason to assume that.
Nice try though. |

how long should you wait?
well, your gonna wait as long as it takes to pair the next round, theres nothing you can realy do about it unless the TC forgot about it, and if the TC forgot about it contact a J2 or higher to see if someone else can pair the next round or close out the mini. |
