Sage of Epityr is pretty terrible.
It seems like deck would eat it pretty bad vs any aggro deck. The closest thing it has to a single control element is Restore Balance and it doesn't run any decent creatures that dont have supsend on them. |

Agreed, and I would never draft him in a million years, but this deck desperately needed some draw fixing. Plus hes a 1 drop to feed warrens, so I'm fine with it. The aggro matchup is fine as long as you combo out, it really only takes Gargadon and Restore Balance with a few lands and permanents. Gargadon and Balance tick suprisingly fast with timebug//timecrafting. |

| It works often, so I really don't care how the cards look individually. Having a 9/7 with haste and your opponent with 0 lands and 0 creatures seems good to me :/ |

Sounds really good, but my teferi beats your suspend cards
All i see you have is snapback and it doesn't seem like a good answer to a teferi.
And teferi is the most commonly played card in the format. |

| Good point, I haven't run into teferi yet. Maybe Erratic Mutation in the sideboard? Its only reliable if you play Sage before. |

| For the same mana cost you could play Psi Blast and take 2 instead of a risk. |

Let’s see…
Clockspinning & Timebug: Bad cards; yeah, they make your suspended dudes come in quicker, but these seem weak.
Chromatic Star: Good, but what are you really using it for here? Wouldn’t mana acceleration be better?
Ancestral Vision: Meh
Greater Gargadon: Good card, especially with…
Restore Balance: Good with Greater Gargadon. But is it good otherwise?
Empty the Warrens: Good, but you don’t have many ways of going off.
Sage of Epityr: Index sucks. There have to be better deck thinners.
All in all, the deck does not deserve the thread title. All it is is Gargadon Balance, and frankly, I don’t think that’s a particularly great idea. Moreover, the deck has no plausible way to prevent someone from canceling the creatures (or the balance), and each one takes ages to come in. Frankly, it seems too slow and too vulnerable to disruption to be viable. I’d run more disruption and less suck.
Moreover, a blue control deck with Teferi owns you terribly. Two snapback just isn’t going to cut it against that. |
