OK, so Í've installed Apprentice, figured out how to play it, downloaded the patches (although the latest Planar Chaos patch has a lot of mistakes - 'sweep the araba' should be 'charge across the araba'), and made a couple of decks for goldfishing.
Now I want to play online, and there is a nice little button entitled 'chat & play room'. Thus, I click, and try to connect. It doesn't, and near the top of the screen is stated I should follow the link and download Java. I did so, tried, and failed, restarted my computer, retried... and failed.
Could anyone explain to me what is the problem, and how it can be solved?
Thanks in advance,

I suggest.... you download mIRC
www.mirc.com
THEN
Open mIRC and click the server link at the top of this website. |

Thanks, now I have mIRC and opened it, but still don't know what to do next. I have a screen with 'name' and 'nickname' and such, I filled it in and clicked 'new server' or something, and now I got a screen where I can type, but the only message I get is 'you are not on a channel'. I've understood there are certain commands that let you join a channel, correct? Also, after the 30-day trial must I pay 20 to use it? I thought it was free (I'm not allowed to buy anything off the Internet )
Thanks in advance,

| You can find the guides to all this in the "Guides" section. |

You're mixing up registering your nick with the server with registering mIRC with the creator. mIRC is in fact shareware, and you're supposed to pay for it after the trial period, but no one does. |

Thanks all, I will try
I also have a question about Magic WorkStation (MWS): How does it work? I start it, and it starts loading crapcards with +5 tower and 3 damage to opponant's legions and nonsense like that... can I delete it? Can I use it to play with decks? Are the cards free? Are all the cards (or at least, those of Standard) included?
Thanks in advance,

| I tried the guide but I can only see half of it... can't scroll sideways, for some stupid reason. |
