A deck can have any number of colours in it, but from the time I started Magic until now, none of the decks are colourless. My wacky alter ego immediately got his hands dirty, coming up with a deck which I think is...I think I'll let you look at it. =)

LANDS
4 Vesuva
4 Cloudpost
4 Quicksand
4 Blinkmoth Nexus
4 Urza's Mine
4 Urza's Power Plant
4 Urza's Tower

ARTIFACTS
4 Oblivion Stone
3 Claws of Gix
4 Defense Grid
2 Helm of Kaldra
2 Shield of Kaldra
2 Sword of Kaldra
4 Darksteel Forge
4 Conjurer's Bauble
4 Orochi Hatchery
3 Staff of Domination

This decks win by beatdown, using either snake tokens, Blinkmoths, or a beefy Kaldra.

There was a Mono-Brown deck back in the day. Artifacts used to have a brown border, hence the deck name. And I'm pretty sure it was t2 legal. I know that there was one for Type 1 and it involved Su-Chi.

Mono-brown had black in it, I think . . . it used Ritual to put out a quick Metalworker. At least, the guy who played it in my area had black in his. Smile

Anyway, if it's a casual deck, why limit yourself to extended cards? Pull out da Urza's toys and wreck face.

I agree here, but if you are restricted to only one of those two cards, use Obvlivion Stone.

Mono-Brown was used at the New Orleans 1.x Pro Tour right?
Well, since artifacts don't have brown borders anymore, I think this deck should be called something like "Mono-Metal" or...I dunno.

The only mono-brown deck with black that I remember was Toll Bridge. It used Ensnaring Bridge,Null Brooch,Cursed scroll and the like.

I'm working with the Extended card pool here, which may explain the lack of some of the cards you mentioned here. I don't have access to many of the old school cards which you mentioned, sad to say. =(

Nevertheless, it's nice to know that this path has been treaded upon before, so at least I'm not on unfamiliar grounds. I'll go search the Internet for these decks when I've got time over the weekend.

"Heavy Metal" sounds like a nice name for this deck... =)

In any case, what do you guys think of this deck? If you were to rate it on a scale of 1 to 10, how high would it be? What other improvements would you suggest?
