smallpox and sac lands

can you play smallpox, targeting one of the sac lands then in response sac the land to get a new land without actually saccing a land?

well, first off, you can't target anything what so ever with Pox... second, you either sac the fetchland or the land that was fetched, your choice (i perfer to sac the fetchland in this case)

No u can't. when it resolves u must choose a land a nd sac it
then u can play abilities making it impossible to do it.sry

the only thing you could sacrifice and get another land is Flagstones of Trokair though. You sac it and you fetch a plains. So you don't lose a land and your opponent does.

Obviously, I was trying to give him an idea to actually use as his smallpox idea doesn't.
