ok, now I m really pissed off...
I play a deck that is kind of low (in 1.5). I'm in a mini and my opponent takes REALLY his time for tapping permanents (like 10 to 30 seconds between EACH TAP and EACH PLAY). At the beginning of the game, it does not really matters (but it will affect the game later, obv) since you have about 2 to 4 permanents in play. So what happens, the guy says : " I m not stalling, look at my logs" because it's a reassonable amount of time for a turn or even action.. but you know and I know that taking THAT time is stalling. So the guy wins game 1, there is about 15 minutes to player after ROUND 1, so since the game 2 is not finished, they win the game.. YAY ! (sarcasme here). Even if I go to a judge and tell them about that, they will say send the log and the stall is not really visible..
and I saw this kind of action AT LEAST twice in different tourny
What do you think ? is it just me or did you see this kind of actions too ? if yes, what can we do about it ? |

| If he really did take 10 seconds to tap each land and make each play you could easily see it in the logs. You should have at least attempted to go to #judges4you BEFORE THE GAME ENDED. |

Even if we see that in the logs, we won't get a warning for stalling... it'S not stalling from a judges point of view... |

I never saw someone contradicting himself as much as you. You begin by saying that you hate stalers and afther you say that they are correct. If they stall and come out with a win, they absolutely don't deserve to win and you know that. And I will complain, I wil bitch and post thread about that. I agree with you though on magic is a mental game. I don't have a problem with my opponnent taking his time for thinking and do the best play. But when it's stalling, it'S another thing. So if I play against you one day, I will stall the way my opp did and you wil complain and bitch and I will come after to you to shut you up.
plz, THINK before posting |

What the hell "QFT" mans ?
you are right on what you said. the thing is that the guy I played against, was tapping EVERYTHING once at a time. that buys time, A LOT of time and he doesn't count for a judge as stalling when they actually are. |

QFT=Quoted For Truth
the thing is u cant call him for stalling after the match. u HAVE to call him on it there. logs could've been easily edited lol. u have to force them into a position where they either get a game loss or play a normal game.
btw do u know how many topics on stalling there are on these forums. everyone responds with: STOP BITCHING. if admins didnt do anything about it before they certainly arent going to do anything now. bitching and whining isnt goin to get u anywhere. everyone will just say that u are a whiny bitch who cant call a person for stalling for shit. |

The problem is I did call the TC ... HE NEVER FUCKING ANSWERED ME
the problem is that this kind of stall CANNOT BE detected by judges (even with logs) it has probably happend to you and you know it. If you nobody complain about that, no actions will be done against that.
I m not bitching... but ok.. I understand watch me do the "new kind of stall" from now on... and you too ... if I play against you... YOU BETTER NOT "BITCHING" |

Well, one idea is that that player didn't know how to tap multiple lands at once. I've played people like this. They would also manually untap each land. I think they were even right clicking and selecting either "tap" or "untap"...
After explaining how to untap all permanents at once, and how to click and drag to tap multiple permanents at once, the match went much faster. Try that next time.
Also, even if someone does stall, there's still enough time to get in one annoying game. Just beat them. Just because someone stalls doesn't mean they auto-win. |

We were in a tourney and the guy KNEW how to untap at once since he did sometimes (when he forgot to stall)
You are right, it doesn't mean they auto-win. But if they stall and we are in g3 for example, they will beat you a bit just to lower life and stall after that. |

If you took 10 seconds between each card you tapped, I'd give you a warning for slow play and tell you to play faster, and if you continued to do so, I'd probably dq you for cheating - stalling.
However, please note that you must complain in #judges4you BEFORE time is up if you feel your opponent is playing slowly or want an extension. If your opponent is playing slow or you want an extension for time spent waiting for a ruling, ask before the round is up, as once the round is over we won't give you the extension.
I have been griped at about my own playing speed at times, but remember, different people play at different speeds. I'm pretty glacial; some people take 10 seconds for their average turn. I take more like 30, and sometimes up to a minute if I have a hard choice. This is why I think chess clocks would be a good addition to tournament Magic. However, given the way we do things, the best you can do is first verbally ask your opponent to hurry up a bit if they're playing really slowly, then, if they don't, complain in #judges4you. |
