I've been trying to bring this deck back for a long time I think PC might be the set to do it in.
4 duress
4 chainer's edict
4 damnation
3 cabal therepy
3 consume spirit
3 diabolic tutor
3 undead gladiator
2 mind sludge
2 skeletal scrying
2 null profusion
2 terror
1 caustic tar
22 swamp
3 cabal coffers
1 boseju
1 urborg, tomb of yawgmoth
SB
4 extirpate
4 ostracize
2 mutilate
2 nantuko shade
3 engineered plague
Basically I mastered this deck during OD/ONS so any critiques on the older cards other than a 4th undead gladiator are more or less moot. |

Wouldn't you benefit from using cards like kokusho?
Seems a lot more solid/reliable than a single spell which isn't too hard to stop. |

I was tinkering with MBC is t1.x,
Magus of the coffer+Staff of domination+7 swamps= win
You just need to have a win condition in your deck, like tendrels, or soul burn or consume spirt.
You get infinate mana, draw your whole deck, and win.
With Urborg it makes it even easyer, plus the synergy of Urborg+Coffers(Coffers counting itself!!!)
Big Mana Black is coming??? |

Undead Gladiator? I think you should add Kokushu in as a tertiary win condition though. |

| Undead Gladiator lets you rip through your library (providing you have coffers) during your upkeep to find cards you need and get rid of dead ones. |

Heh, thx for explaining gladiator's function in the deck for these ppl, Acid..
It seems that I overestimated ppl's understanding of the deck by a long shot in presuming that most ppl know nothing about it.
EDIT: No one has commented on the mana base, and yet suggest a damn dragon from one of the worst sets in recent magic history as the kill condition. Laying land every turn is very important in the deck, if you draw too much you just cycle through it with gladiator.

Kokusho is an awful idea. This deck strips cards out of the oppt's hand until they are in top deck mode, all the while keeping the board clear. A solid cosume spirit for 16 with no worries is not uncommon at all. |

After yesterday's I can tell:"Not badly!"
But i think that it's not a best choice in extended. |

| Maybe not the best ext deck choice, who knows it hasnt been tested for 3+ years now, but it blatently does have a good matchup against any deck out there on paper alone. |

If you'd consider it, I'd put more Nantuko shades MD and splash white for Gerard's verdict.
Also you really should add Helldozer ... it wrecks almost everything in Extended... |

Holy fucking idiot alerts...
Magus of the coffer....?!!!!111!!! The original is in the format! BAMAKY!
Wtf@your sb dude. I know that is probably a pretty early draft but still...two shades? just cut them for other shit?
If I am not mistaken, isn't caustic tar another win condition?
Have two terrors really been working that well? I dunno, I had a short-lived interest in mbc and I would rather have something like mutilates instead of terror but you've probs been testing.
Wayfarer's baubles or solemns might be sort of sexy but I don't see much room, nor have I actually tested the deck, all I have is speculation. Just throwing a few ideas out there...that's all. I did like baubles and jens in mbc though...I liked them alot.
Cheers. |
