I quit magic for two years, and I played wake in extended all the time here. When extended was mostly like, RG, UG Rock, Tog and Tooth.
I was wondering if it would be viable in today's metagame.
I was thinking of something like.
26 Lands.
4 Wrath
4 Mana Leak / Lapse
3 Fact or Fiction
3 Wake
2 Deep An.
3 Decree
3 Cunning Wish
3 Counterspell
3 Moment's Peace
4 Sakura Tribe.
2 Renewed Faith.

OR
no Sakuras.
+1 Faith
+3 Spell Snare.

the sideboard would contain some targets and 3 stifle 3 sphere of law or something.

any suggestions or commments?

you are talking about boros, desire and uw?

if you don't run targeted removal, you will lose. Splashing black for mortify seems ok, but basically, 4 wrath as your only creature control is far too few and far too slow. renewed faith isn't good anymore, even hardcast, simply because of the speed of the format. your main problem is that the wake win condition is just too slow for this format, where even the fast control decks like no-stick are only barely viable

In the current meta you can offord to have a few colours, I suggest WRBg wake, I have been currently testing it and its not bad. WB vindicate, R for burning wish, wrath etc, then you can get artifact and enchantment removcal with green .
Vs Boros : Wrath, vindicate, smother
Vs Azoritron: Vindicate, burning wish for anything needed
Vs Desire: Duress

Or theres the other WGU version that I was trying which ran standstill, and considering you dont need to play a spell for a long time...renewed faith, decree of justice etc a second turn landstill is tech. turn two standstill againt boros and chances are your going to draw into your massive removal.

By no means is Wake a bad deck, extended is filled with good decks, hence the meta is always changing rapidly so don't let anyone tell you that wake sucks, test it for yourself, make mods and who knows you may face a lot of aggro decks in the trial and slaughter them....
