duplicating cards in play

If you cast "followed footsteps" on something like stuffy doll that you need to specify a player as it comes into play do you choose or can you choose a new player for the token copy or does it target the same player the existing stuffy is targeting?

You choose new targets each time a copy comes into play. They are treated as new permanents with the exact same text (unless specified by the card or effect that created it/them) as the original target.
