Where is the love for Putrid Imp??? Happless allows one time effect while Putrid gives you a constant outlet. I have been running a similiar deck in 1.5 since Vengence came out. While ext doesn't have Dark Ritual to give you that fun old turn 1 hand killer, turn 2 is just as nice.

The thing about solar flare: In the long game, it could hardcast it's fatties. This deck can't at all. So to fix that, I would add maybe City of Brass, or dual lands in place of basics to fetch with those, um, fetchlands. This would make your game maybe a bit better because you could survive in the long run, and pay for that Nicolas Bolas upkeep.

I'm assuming that those who will remain nameless are only comparing this to Solar Flare because they are a little newer to competitive magic. Flare is control, this falls in a much longer line of combo/aggro reanimator decks.

Now I, admittedly, don't play much extended, but isn't Putrid Imp still 1.x legal? And Zombie Infestation? And chrome mox may or may not work for you to accelerate into a turn faster fattie.

I don't know why anyone would waste their time trying to make this work when it was a tier 2 strategy BEFORE the rotation took away Vampiric Tutor, Brainstorm, Reanimate and Exhume.

some nice suggestions here, allow me to filter some tough.

Adding dragons:

Dragons are longterm creatures, with no haste, but a very mean upon death effect, sadly they would be too slow and tempo/ineffective as opposed to razia/Akroma wich deal 6 on second turn AND stay to defend my face against most things.

Fix lands for bolas upkeep:

I do NOT need that.Bolas is a goryo target used to deal one strike that if connects wins me games, and thats all i need,i do not plan on using him with normal reanimations, given that he'd sit around for a turn being a "kill me" bait, and wasting my next turn tempo.

Putrid imp vs hapless:

Putrid imp is actually a very nice choice,B for a 2/2 who mostly flies can help sneak those last points of damage, and is a more effective "discard" than researcher....yet researcher offers me the extra draw as well. Also for my (again) VERY fast tempo-needs,putrid is too long-term,but its worth a tought.

shizo>swamp

very good idea, can help me sneak that nicol attack better since very few fliers are black and can block.

Mox

dont really need,as even if i had a turn 1 2 mana i'd still need to discard, and mox removes from game...how would i be able to cast a turn 1 reanimation barring 2 moxes and perfect hand?

Keep the suggestions coming, and thanks for the shown interest in this deck.

First off...this deck is nothing like solar flare and should not be changed to look anything like it...obviously most of you people weren't around in the good old days when reanimator decks looked exactly like this... solar flare is not a reanimator deck, it's a control deck with reanimation cards for late game threats...the reanimator deck that has been posted is perfect for what he plans on doing...throw a threat into the grave and go to town with huge fatties next turn...though it does look very fragile so i think testing is needed...feel free to post replies to this, i am open to suggestions on my post.

I would play chrome mox as the original reanimator deck used to,even though there is no more turn 1 careful study mox reanimate play, a turn 1 ideas unbound is good, also what really is gonna bother you is crypt and leyline you should save sb spots for those... maybe chain of vapor and needle dunno, also dg01 your list is quite nice the subsequent one with wog is absolutely worthless and bigshow, yes now I am sure, you are retarded...

definitely add chrome mox.. also i would add 4x Glimpse as they basically give u a reanimate target and go with stitch together. Remember though Its best just to win on the first creature.
