this is a deck I've been working on for so long now and it works well...except for some reason or another, it never seems to have the right answer for a given threat at the right time and I REALLY don't understand why

so far I've played in two tourneys with it and both times I lost.
what would you all suggest for this deck

oh...the point of the deck is to annihilate their hand with duress and verdict and specter, control board with wrath and mutilates and vindicates, attack them with angel for life if I get it, or attack with Yukora...all the while maintaining real card advantage with Dark Confidant and/or Greed. To offset the massive life loss that can be inflicted, Pulse of the Fields keeps me alive

plz help...I really don't want to give up on this deck ('cause I like the idea and whatnot), but if it doesn't win something soon, I'm going to...

remove cabal ritual
put chrome mox
remove dark confidant
more wrath of god !
put 4th greed
4th pulse of the fields(u REALLY need it)
put 3rd and 4th angel instead of yukora
more vindicate
remove hippie(too slow)
add castigate( u really need a lot of disruption vs counterspells based control and combo decks

Your problem is simple to solve. Your only running to less cards cards 4-3 times without any tutor. If you just look at the list a shor time it seems techy but its just not if you take a look longer then 40 seks. Its basic things i now tell you. DECIDE what cards you like to play. DECIDE how often you play them. LOOK at better cards. So heres a list based on yours and i didnt played it but i bet it would do better.(most card choices are yours)

I think your can decide what land your play(maybe some other based on this list but i wont post any cause i didnt played this deck 1 time).

4x hypnotic specter(i would prefer stupor//persecute but its your deck)
3x Exalted Angel
3x Plagued Sliver(hes just better then Yukora)

4x gerrads Verdict
4x Wrath of God
4x Vindicate
4x Phyrexian Arena (why the hell playing in this controlish deck Greed or Confi?)
4x Duress
4x Wrath of GOd
4x The right signet
(this is just a random list i post what i want to say is !run arti mana accel over cabal!, why? in early cases it gives you 1 mana(same as an art mana 1 round later and for the rest of the game!, know what your playing you cant realy play multitate over wrath?!? and tweak your deck/this list depending on your meta. If theres a lot of aggro maybe playing 2 multitate over 2 duress or creatures.... do whats needed to be competativ where you play. Ah and you dunno why your deck doesnt have the right answer at the right time i can tell you why. Your deck has so many weird choices(e.G. why 2 conigs 3 greeds????? if you dont have a bunch of life greed is just bader then confi or arena, in a control deck like your arena > confi), Why 2 wrath 2 multitae(FOCUS on what is better in this deck) Why cabal ritual what do you want to speed ub GREED???? YUKAORA???........
your control its not about loosing 1 card for faster damage and i will say it again concentrate on what your playing, Pulse of grid(i mean comeo ne), Death grasp(see pulse of grid). I hope i didnt be to harsh, i am a bit drunk so i am sry if i was. But i have to say the importants points what i have to tell you to this.

1. THINK OF WHAT YOUR ARE PLAYING (your playing control so dont use things like cabal ritual, you dont want to have sometimes a fast start you want consistense and you dont get that throught 4 cabal rituals)

2. CHOOSE WHICH CARDS ARE STRONGER THAN OTHER (playing sings like 2x wog 2x miltitate is just bullshit, the same counts for 2x bob 3x greed over 4 times phyrexian arena, or 2x vindicate and 3x Death Grasp, the badest card choice anyway is Pulse of fields, what the fuck your winnning with this card? if you like gaining live play faith fetters this card at least does something and is better then death grasp about 1k%. (dont forget you play gerrads verdict and exalted angel anyway!). So thats what i have to say to you. And btw Yukora and Plagued is personal choice but loosing 1 life cant be compared to loosing all creas you control(depends if your playing hypnotics if not i maybe would also decide play 4 Yokora over 3x Plagued(only 3 cause having two isnt that sweet).

I said it before i say it now again, i dont want to be to harsh i just want you to tell about things suddenly caught my eyes. I hope i gave some advice thats usefull.
