I've mostly been debating between Burning Tog, UB Counterbalance Tog and Madness Tog myself, and occasionally have considered Tog with green, but I'm still very undecided.
I agree that sudden shock is a house against it, but in my experience, I have yet to see a deck that runs it main board or sideboard. If Tog becomes a viable deck again, I have no doubt it would be in the SB of most decks, if not MD. But until then, Tog is still viable.
One idea I do like is a Burning Tog variant that runs green for Genesis and deed, as those are both great cards for the Tog arsenal (plus you have access to some of the best Split Second cards that way too) |

Okay, Sudden Shock might be anough against UB Tog decks with no way to recur Dr Teeth, but UBG is another story altogether, since they can just use Genesis to get it back and try again.
Sudden Shock > Psychatog? Hardly. |

| Yea, I've been playing other decks besides Psychatog, and frankly, not even 4 Sudden Shock is enough. Even playing against a UB Tog deck, you might be able to draw 1 Shock to take out one tog, but they have a lot more card draw than you....I eventually lost the game, even drawing 3 of my sudden shocks...... |
