League is a nice free way to play tournaments... They give you a raiting system, drafts, any formats and prize for Masters. All for no money to them.. The rules are set in a way different there real tournaments because the fact appr and mws cant be monitored as well.. Now a days Matryl tron of stall is being played all over... Is it fair to have stall tactics used on league? There not normal stall tactics but basically the tactic to win first game... Why? Well the rule is if you win first game and tie you win the match. Theres no 5 turn rule or ties in certain tournaments... Im not a well known name on the league circuit cuz i rarely play it and only recently came back to practice for states and upcomming big t2 event... So who cares what i think right? Well if you dont then dont read my shitty grammer and spelling.. Matryl of the sands is the most annoying card made when abused like it is... In most real tournaments time would always make these decks tie.. On league they go for the tie cuz if you have more life then your opponent at time you win. What freaky rules are these... Life doesnt matter in a game nor does who won the first game... I say there should be ties if someone ties they should either flip or both be knocked out of the tournament.. Just my opinion if anyone agrees let me know.. So far the rules need some change while cards make the rules be to easily abused...

i think this has been discussed before and the reasons for it are simple. its a simple online tournament format and due to the system its hard to enforce things like 5 turns etc.

btw just scoop to the people playing the white tron decks, i dont care about my rating and it makes life easier Smile

when playing against MWC, people need to realize earlier when its time to concede the game. If your opponent already has the lifegain engine going, chances are you're not going to win the game, and you should just scoop and go on to the next.

Too often, I see people playing out long games hoping for miracles when its obv that they will lose. Accept the loss, and go on to the next game hoping your sb will help you.

Ties in single elimination DCI tournaments are handled exactly the same way they are in magic-league. 5 turns don't change anything in the situations you discuss. Thank you, please drive through.

no i'm not talking about you. I'm talking about in general. I've seen way too many t1/1.5 games where one player was locked out (stax+trinisphere+ welder vs no perms or something) but the person refuses to quit.

I've played many games where I will win by attacking and my opponent knows it, but they force me to play it out.... (why? I can see trying to bluff hoping i won't attack with everything in some cases but some people are redic)

Some opponents are dumb enough to not only attack but to also show you some form of a trick you wouldn't have seen if you simply scooped. I agree against the mwc deck that if they get the lifegain engine off and you don't think you can win game one quickly that scooping and playing game 2 and possibly 3 quickly is a good idea, but if its only 1 turn of them saying attack, you might as well make them do it in the off chance they show you something they shouldn't have expecting a trick or something.
