How little you know of classic Magic.
That said, I regularly pull out Weapons, because with the legendary lands, mana producing creatures, and games beyond two turns, I CAN produce 8 mana fairly regularly. Welcome to the old days, kid.

Take Time Spiral. A lot of the legends cost around 5-6-7, which is a lot more feasable, and those are fun, cool legends!
I looked at Sephiroth and was really overwhelmed by the mana cost. Creatures can still be cool without costing an arm and a leg.
I'm sure you can produce eight-ten mana regularly, but I don't see how you could do it without warping the idea of deck. All of a sudden, everything's about producing a boatload of mana! |

Actually, since all of those cards are legends, not to mention rare, it's more about holding off the other person while you try to get lands out for YOUR huge card to come out, or to wipe them out before they pull out THEIRS.
