| I'm no big fan of death metal, but metal is awsome. I listen mostly to power metal and speed metal, bands such as Blind Guardian, Metallica, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. I don't really like the screaming, but the music is often very good. |

Slayer is not death metal.
I'd say Cannibal Corpse are the most well known death metal band on the list. |

| Ok first slayer is death metal, they are just the early stages of death metal. Listen to them, they got the grunts and static power guitar sound just as death metal bands of today, they along with bands like death and venom are the founding fathers of death metal. And plz dont argue the fine line between thrsh and death metal because it just gets really annoying. |
