VDW is amazing.
I dont know if I would call it the best deck, but it is very good.
In the right meta (a smaller number of BDW being played) it is so good.
Pre-SB it beats:
TnN
Aggro Loam
Heartbeat
No-Stick (Unless they turn 1 Stick/Chant, but that gives most decks probs.)
Tog
And is meh against Gifts Rock
Post-It beats
Any graveyard using deck even easier
Affinity
The only real problem deck is BDW...
To bad that is what most players are using... |

gifts rock is the best deck, it is very dependant on play skill and expierence with the deck
as for aggro loam, it poss the best numbers on modo because chants are like $100, so there isnt as much no-stick as there would be in irl, its numbers are very misleading |

Tog
&
No-Stick
are the most popular right now but I've been play testing UR Eminent Domain and its only bad matchup is reanimater. Train Wreck is very powerful as well. |

IRL, I think that Psychatog variants will always be at, or very, very near the top. However, for me at least, their power just dosn't seem to transfer well to online. You can't get in the other player's head, see expressions and what not.
Gifts Rock is pretty good. So is Ichorid. Even with all of the graveyard hate, turn four kill is still pretty amazing. |

Tier one extended is
Tooth and Nail, Aggro Loam, UBRw Tog, BDW, Affinity and Heartbeat. Gifts rock is arguably tier 1. Chant isn't tier 1. It's only doing well because this is magic-league. Gifts rock is arguably tier 1.
Edit:Ichorid is tier 1 too. |

Tooth isn't tier one. Don't know what your smoking.
UBRw 'tog...
and Chant Isn't tier one? I'd have to disagree with that, I think that that deck alone has the power elements and control elements to beat every other deck that you just listed as 'tier one'. I honestly think that Stick is the best deck, but people can't play it to it's potential. (Including Me, I just never seem to get it)
To take the cream of the crop, or all what is considered:
Stick
Gifts Rock
Psychatog Variants
Control Wins. It's been proved for 13 years of magic.
The rest of the decks are just good, or people just don't know what else to play (namely Boros Deck, thats like a deck that at a real pro tour, will top eight then scrub out...)
ah well, just my oppinion. |
