It will add a lot more than an hour. Given that top 8 is untimed, players tend to take more time to think decisions through. If the average game takes 20 minutes during timed rounds, they balloon to 30 with untimed rounds. Figuring that the potential exists for 1 match to go the full 5 games, that will add one hour to the top 8 time.
When that is expanded out over the course of 3 rounds, that means tournaments can take up to an additional 3 hours to run. This puts the average master between 8-10 total hours of play, which I think is too much. |

| while reading this thread I thoguht of an idea that will make best of 5 quite possiable, just delay the top 8 to another day, like 1-3 days after the master itself this way top 8 can be played best 5 and it wont be such an intensive event the decklists can be posted some days bfr t8 or just some hours bfr actually playing it, it looks weird and have some problems but it might be good. |
