i play another version:
1 eternal dragon
1 meloku
4 counterspell
4 absorb
4 spellsnare
3 fact or fiction
3 decree of justice
3 whrat of god
2 akroma´s vengueance
2 repeal
3 cunning wish
4 fire/ice
2 pulse of fields
4 flooded strand
3 hallowed fountain
2 steam vents
3 scrying sheets
6 snow-covered plains
6 snow covered island
sb:
1 urza´s rage
1 lightning helix
1 bumerang
1 disenchant
4 morning tide
1 wing shards
1 pulse of fields
1 fact or fiction
1 hinder
and i dont remember what the other fech for wish are, i have in sb only 4 morning tide and fech for wishes
the snow covered lands are only testing, i dont know if i finally play wiht that, the deck is very strong agains creatures deck and can win control because there are lot of killer cards. eternal meloku and decree and even urza´s rage and we have 12 counterspells, well i think that this deck is more solid that you and i dont play standstill because wihtout lands like mishra factory faerie conclave or blinkmoht nexus you can play standstill easily.
sorry my english im spanish but i hope that you can understand what i want to say
regards¡¡¡ |

umm you dont have to have man lands to play standstill its a very strong card that allows you to gain card advantage and to get answers/threats/card advantage
also nexus is still legal/ and im playing stalking stones
your deck is just no stick without the sticks i was trying for something a little diffrent |

Good god, if youre gonna play landstill, you need to play 4 condemn. Its about as close to stp as youre gonna get. Also, no brainstorm/real duals/factories/faeries/FoW really hurts landstill. Nexus and Stalking Stones are really subpar. You will also need 4 wraths, and I have no idea why you are playing rewind and counterbalance and absorb over mana leak.
Or if you just like the card standstill, play U/R or U/W or U/R/W fish with vial and standstill... people will break the standstill just as fast if you have vial out. |

vials great and all but it sort of got banned/...
and yah i might go with 4 mana leak.
what are you suggesting to take out for 4th wrath of god and condemns??
btw:
the absorb and rewind spread out my converted mana costs(counterbalance) and there also very nice hard counters |

| How about Blinkmoth Nexus and Stalking Stones? It isn't Landstill without man-lands. |

All of my comments are in regards to the original list.
I'd run a full set of Chain of Vapor. Being able to play Standstill on turn 2 is good. It also gives you more answers to permanents, and that is good when you have to tap mana on your turn to play your card drawing.
I don't know why everyone is so high on the Top/Counterbalance combo. Extended is too fast to cram that into a deck where it doesn't belong. Both cards are horrible by themselves in this deck.
Rewind is garbage. Your countermagic base should be about the same as Scepter-Chant's. I would run 4 Wraths and keep your eye open for potential splash cards, which are painless with fetches and eternal dragon.
The big question is how this is in any way better than ScepterChant. |

If you want your landstill deck to be competitive, you have to splash green for Nantuko Monastery. Here's the list iam currently running with very good results
Land
4xIsland
4xFlooded Strand
4xWindswept Heath
2xPlains
1xNomad Stadium
1xCephalid Coliseum
2xHallowed Fountain
1xTemple Garden
1xBreeding Pool
4xNantuko Monestary
Creatures
2xEternal Dragon
Spells
4xStandstill
4xCounterspell
4xWrath of God
4xCunning Wish
3xFact or Fiction
3xCondemn
3xForce Spike
3xMana Leak
2xDecree of Justice
2xCrucible of Worlds
2xAkromas Vengeance
Sb
4xScrabbling Claws
1xAbsorb
1xCondemn
1xOrims Chant
1xCommandeer
1xStifle
1xEchoing Truth
1xVengeful Dreams
1xStream of Consciousness
1xPulse of the Fields
1xDisenchant
1xFact or Fiction
Quick explanation for some cards.
Nomad Stadium- Its amazing when used in conjunction with crucible. Some aggro decks just cant beat 4 life per turn, especially boros.
Nantuko Monastery- Easily the best manland in ext, so it definitely needs to be included in any landstill deck.
Crucible of Worlds- Brings back monastery if it dies, and works well with stadium and coliseum. |
