If I stifle an Imprint (on a Scepter for example) when it comes into play, what happens ?
Where does the card go ? |

let's explain how things go on on this situation:
your op. casts scepter (or other imprint-hability card). once the scepter resolves, the imprint ability goes to the stack. in this moment, you can response with stifle and no card will be imprinted. if you let the imprint ability to trigger, op. chooses and discards a card, and it gets imprinted. you cannot stifle the imprint once you know the card, so if you stifle the imprint your op. won't discard any card. |

| However, the point is, Stifle works as a counterspell to Isochron Scepter...at least for the most part |

| For one thing, the card is never discarded, it is a card from your hand that gets removed from game. So Stifling the Imprint prevents the card from getting removed from the game and it stays in that player's hand. |

as Arathomir said, the card is removed from the game, not discarded. i wanna say that, but once writing i had that error.
then the 2 posibilities are :
You stifle the imprint when scepter comes and player keeps all their cards in hand.
You don't stifle and player removes from the game an instant with 2 cmc from his/her hand
Also as Rath said you can stifle the scepter ability each time player activates it to cast a copy of the imprinted card, and no copy will be played in this time. Player can activate the scepter ability and cast the copy again whenever he/she untaps the scepter. |
