8 people max.

Auction: The first person then the next person (one through eight) and back again bid on formats/decks.

This is how you bid:
you start with 48 Points
1 Card = 4 Points
1 Life = 1 Point
Start with 48 Points
When you win a format you can start with any combination of cards/life with that total of points

Example:
If I bid 42 points the only bigger bids 41 Points.

Formats:
T1
T1.5
T1.x
T2

You will begin bid on T1 decks then 1.5 and so on and so forth. for a total of 2 of each normal format for a total of 8 people.

After the bidding is complete you will play each other in a mini. You will play only with the format of the deck you won the bid with.

If i have a winning bid on a 1.5 deck of 35 Ponts that is how I will start EVERY game (with a Combination of cards/life totaling 35, like 5 Cards 15 Life).

Have fun!!

Post Questions and i will make a FAQ

Q: oh i don't have to play every format?
A: Only the format you have bid on. But if I won the T1 format I would be playing T1, even if T2 is T1 legal. If I dont have a T1 deck ill play with a T1 LEGAL deck.

Q: so does that mean if you overbid me on T1, you'll be playing a T1 deck against my T2 deck?
A: If we are paired then YES.

This might help you understand.

The Bidding starts with Type 1 and players make bids until someone makes a bid and no one will make a lower bid. Then that player gets to use a deck of that format.

you start with 48 points

4 points = 1 card starting in hand
1 point = 1 starting life

example
Players= Timmy, Spike and Elzar
Timmy 40 points
Elzar 34 points
Timmy 31 points
Elzar 28 points
....(no more bids)

then elzar would get to use a deck of that format

since he won he could choose 2 cards 20 life, 6 cards 4 life, etc.

Interesting concept. I don't think its nearly as good as a "normal" auction, but I'm sure it'd be fun. Also, I think the traditional auction format of bidding [cards in hand, life] is better than that point system.

Vintage came down to about 20 points
Legacy was about 30 points
Extended was 35 to 40 points
and T2 ran fully powered.

i think people bid WAAAAY to high on the Vintage and Legac Decks.
