Turn 4 earliest. That's IF you happen to draw one in your opening hand. I can't see this card being all that good in standard.
However, I don't doubt there will be sneaky ways to abuse it in nonT2 formats. |

this will be great in control and combo in standard, extended, and legacy. I have a hand of farseek, forest, island, new lotus, simic sky swallower, two other cards(counters, early threats, another land, or something). Turn 4 simic sky swallower as long as you draw a land in three turns. Even dropped turn 2, 3, or 4 sets up a massive mid to late game. Could even be an aggro finisher considering it cost no mana to play and provides late mana. I mean I do not see how this card could not be good, especially in combo. Yes the three turns wait will make it a dead card when drawn in dire situations but in terms of setup and support this card is amazing.
P.S.- drafting this cards would be killer |

I woke up this morning to see if my topic had gotten any replies, only to be awestruck by the massive 31 posts! This makes it obvious that people are excited about the card. Personally, i think most every deck will run it in fours. Considering you run a 60-card deck, it'll come up in your opening hand 46.29 percent of the time, meaning about half your games, you have 3 extra mana sitting there for you on turn 4.
This card, slivers, kobolds, and everything else I've seen have made me start saving, because I'll be buying many, many boxes of this set. |

Indeed
Or Opening Hand: Izzet signet, Urza Tower, Urza Mine, Urza Power plant, 3 Lotuses, 17 mana on turn 3
Very unlikely, but possible.
Does anyone else think this card owns vore? |

i dont think it owns vore but holding 1 or 2 of these or having already played one makes vore's advantage slimmer
vore can play them too and they know when the LD is coming |

this card isn’t that great guys. having to wait three turns to use it is a MASSIVE drawback. Comparing this to black lotus is like comparing Long-Term Plans to Demonic Consultation . The delay of benefits received from initial investment is just too great. Despite popular belief the most valuable resource in magic is you cards in hand not your mana. If you wana trade your hand for mana later in the game go for it but be sure to play me.
Some of you I'm sure are saying "but dark ritual and black lotus are awesome ill use those all day" and your right. But there’s a huge difference between those cards and this one and that is "The delay of benefits received from initial investment" or your gain/loss in tempo if you want to call it. Its being able to play dark rit then immediately use that mana to play a powerful higher costing spells like a first turn necro, a belcher, a mind desire, or setting up for a lethal tendrals. Rit and Black lotus are good cause you can use the mana right away and gain a significant boost in tempo.
I wouldn't be surprised if some combo deck is able to use this card to some success in some format, but this is not an "auto-four-in-OMG-card" in every t2 deck that some of you guys are painting it up to be.

Lotus Blossom does the following: Make you wait a few turns, then accelerates you.
It what?
It waits a few turns, then accelerates you.
That's kind of like stepping on the breaks and the stepping on the gas, isn't it?
Yes, it's pretty confounding.
Wait, later in the game, you have all the mana you need. The best time to accelerate is immediately, right?
... yeah, the effect is pretty weak.
k, so anyways, I think it'll be pretty nice in Enduring Ideal and Tooth And Nail. Decks that race to 7-9 mana by turn 4. |

| It's certainly an interesting and powerful effect. I think the fact that you probably have to see it by turn 3 at the latest will keep it from much competitive play, but who knows. 'Tron decks have been extremely successful for the last 2 years. Having 7 mana on turn 4 may be important enough to push this into playability. |

It will be worth some money, but playability is not guarranteed, after all, gilded lotus is only a turn later but its reusable.
Yeah, like everyone said, it will be abused by die-hard johnnys. |
