sounds completely reasonable to me. Deck manipulation in such a manor should be considered a serious violation. The fact that he was warned numerous times about his shuffling manor and chose not to change it merits a punishment. If no punishment was given what kind of message would that be sending to other players? its OK to bend and break the rules cause your not going to get punished?

I think a permeant ban is a little severe, but then again anything less then 6 months seems pretty light. If this was anyone else but a pro we would not be having this discussion but because he is I think hes getting of a little light. Im not saying we should burn him at the stake for his actions but he should be punished none the less.

It’s a real shame though that his brother, Antoine Ruel will now most likely be put under the closer examination, who will continue to play with a tarnished record due to the poor decision/mistakes of his brother.

ALSO He also should have acknowledged his mistake and apologized or stuck to his guns and fought it if he thought he was innocent, saying that he doesn’t know why hes being punished is rather childish.

He's admitted he deserved to be DQed, I think he was hoping not to be banned from Magic for 6 months though.

In any event, as for Antoine... Antoine is not Olivier, and there is no reason he should be watched any more than anyone else.

Everyone who says that he's stupid for not understanding why he was suspended is in fact stupid. Unless Wizards explained it to him, how would he know? Looking down while shuffling is not enough to merit a 6 month ban. I'm guessing Wizards found more through videotapes.
