|
| Well this may be a common question out there, regarding the triggered abilities of such creatures like Frenzied Goblin, or Genesis. Can they be played more than once? I am almost certain that one time is the limit, or they would have been printed " (Cost): (effect), play this ability only during your upkeep. or "only when frenzied goblin attacks" I have seen confusion on this in tourneys, and in forums, and would like to clear this up for everybody. |

they may be played every time the conditions are right.
EDIT: And only once each time the conditions are right
EDIT2: It's my upkeep. I can play Genesis's ability once. Every time I attack with Frenzied Goblin, I may pay R once and prevent a single blocker. |

| He's correct, the reason being anytime you see an ability that starts with When, Whenever, or At, you're putting a trigger on the stack. Once that trigger is on the stack you can choose to activate it by paying whatever costs are needed, or you can choose to ignore it. If you pay the trigger's cost then the effect happens, if not, then nothing happens. Since the trigger only goes on the stack once you only get the effect once. |
