I've been reading the new time vault errata and can't make sense of it. It makes it seem like you need a seperate effect to untap it. is this true?

The current wording reads, "If Time Vault would become untapped, instead choose one - untap Time Vault and you skip your next turn; or Time Vault remains tapped." You will need a separate effect to untap it; it cannot untap itself anymore.

That's not true, it's just that you now can only untap it if you had an opportunity to, whereas the old one could untap anytime, making it nuts with flame fusillade.

I thought they were trying to errata it back so it had the same use as it was after the first errata. This takes it even further away from the first errata doesn't it?

What RThomas wrote is completely correct. In addition to that Time Vault says:
T: Take an extra turn after this one.

The new errata makes the FlameVault deck die, however there is one more combo which the person who did the errata forgot the consider.

This combo is for you to find out. Trust me its very good.

I think you're reffering to Mizzium Transqueliant.

It's not nearlt as good as with flame fussilade.

actually they wanted to errata it so that it went back to its original functionallity. The original vault didn't let you untap it anytime you want, THAT was an errata. There is still a debate as to whether the newest version actually accomplishes what wizards meant to do.

the new time vault combo with Mizzium Transreliquat isn't so good. you may have infinite turns, but still dont win.

You can beat them down with a single goblin welder with infinite turns. And most likely they'll concede once you get the combo anyway.

Obv you win, but it can take a while, which WILL get you unwanted draws/losses in compare to Fussilade. Also, you can't win versus life anymore, when they comboed.

Well, since the combo is crap anyway, might as well put millstone in the deck or something Very Happy

You can put a 2 card infinite damage combo in the deck as well. Just 2 slots Very Happy
