Generally aggro isn't going to have the removal necessary to take care of Kiki-Hussar (which took the slot of Mephidross). Boros, which does have the removal is often taken care of with either Kiki/Trike or Trike/Titan (depending on your life total, estimated burn in hand, and board position). Decks like Affinity and Ichorid generally have few to no ways to deal with Kiki/Hussar (and if they did, then they could deal with Trike/Vamp generally).
The Angels from the board are extra insurance against aggro decks, especially Ichorid, who usually has zero answers to a resolved Angel (and can sometimes disrupt your other combos by having you discard a piece of it through Therepy should you be unlucky enough to have it in your hand). |

| Given the current balance of the format, how useful is it to maindeck Trisk/Vamp? Also, are Rorix and Akroma worth running? |

If you're going to play tooth and nail, why not just put:
Myojin of Infinite Rage
Iname as One
Kokusho the Evening Star
Use tooth and Nail to get Myojin and Iname, pay the entwine, put them into play, Iname's ability to get kokusho, put it into play.
Sac' the divinity counter on myojin.
Then pass the rest of your turn. They have no mana.
Then you do damage = 20. For as many turns as you need. They shouldn't be able to play much for the first 3 turns after the divinity counter or so. |

| I am wondering why buning wish is a better selection than living wish for TaN.. I like burning wish but living wish is good against cranial extraction and can work for you if you draw kiki or half of combo for win.. And if burning wish where the heck is rude awakening. Where the heck is wood elves for quick accel. |

When you put myojin into play with tooth it doesnt get a counter. gg
Burning wish is better because it gets you a TnN. Contrary to popular belief when the cast TnN they are not going to start hitting your 1 of creatures. NahHolmes is right on most of what he said. I think Mindslaver MD is fine though. I personally splash black for my own extractions out of the board as well as leyline of the void if I must hardcast it.
The Jiki-Hussar combo is not bad but saying that you go for it against aggro because they dont run targeted removal is ignorant. Boros runs tons of targeted removal. Even a lava dart sacing a mountain and you lose. Darksteel Colossus is just plain bad in comparison to Sundering Titan. Moment's peace must be somewhere in the deck. If you dont run Foothills or some other sac land with 4 tops there is something wrong with you. |

Back When I ran Tooth and Nail in t2, I ran cloudposts. They are definitely more vulnerable than urza lands and slightly slower, but they open ALOT of slots, especially in the lands and acceleration. Cloudpost only takes up 4 slots as opposed to the 9-12 urza lands take up. It allows a solid 2 color mana base, regardless of what color you want to splash.
Stonewood Invocation + Random Fatty = Pain. I'm pretty sure most builds should run an invocation or two.
Eternal Witness has always been a house in this deck, especially with sylvan scrying. Turn 1 Bop, turn 2 scrying, play cloudpost/urzaland. Turn 3 witness scrying and your in business.
A big part of the deck is a wall to keep you alive 1-2 turns more. Carven Caryatid or Vine trellis work fine.
Also, what's the ruling on Tooth and Nail with the myojins. Because entwining a Tooth and Nail still drops the card from your hand into play. So it is coming from your hand. Does that qualify as playing it from your hand?
Regardless, Tooth and Nail can do alot of good stuff in extended. I would go GW, so you can run wrath and condemn, and you have a nice removal package. Add loxodon Heirarch's and Faith's fetters for stabilization and you might have a solid deck. Reap and Sow is too slow for this format in my opinion. Better to accelerate early with sylvan scrying methinks. Weathered Wayfarer can be VERY good in this deck too. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of GW tooth and Nail. Off the top of my head, here is how I would build it.
4 Birds of Paradise
4 Weathered Warfarer
4 Eternal Witness
4 Loxodon Heirarch
1 Kiki-Jiki Mirror Breaker
1 Symbiotic Wurm
1 Sundering Titan
1 Sky Hussar
3 Condemn
4 Sylvan Scrying
4 Wrath of God
4 Tooth and Nail
3 Selesnya Signet
6 Forest
4 Cloudpost
4 Windswept Heath
4 Temple Garden
2 Brushland
1 Plains
1 Boseiju, Who Shelters All
//Sideboard
4 Krosan Grip
4 Sacred Ground
4 COP: Red
3 (Toolbox Tooth Creatures)
I just made that up right now but I like how it looks. Basically just witness control that uses tooth to Tutor for appropriate win conditions. Or Havoc Demon + kiki jiki can reset the board, with -10-10 effect to everything.
If Myojins can tooth into play withcounters then duh, run myojins. You can just get The white and red ones, nuke all creatures and lands, and leave yourself with 2 myojins. But that would be pretty powerful. In fact, I doubt wizards would allow that.
Heirarch serves as a Wall here, with lifegain to back him up.
If I could make more space, I would add Ravenous Baloth and Faith's Fetters.
Anyway, someone who knows the deck better can improve upon this how they see fit. I really like the concept now that I've BS-ed a DL though. Of course lots of people will argue that Urza Lands are better, but they take up ALOT of slots. Even if you only run 2x of each, and then your much less likely to draw the ones you need. In order to run an efficient tron, you need 9-12 urza lands, and in a deck that runs 22 lands, that REALLY weakens your mana base.
I'm Thinkin bout Golden wish. Lemme know what you think about that.
Lets get this thread goin, build something that other people will netdeck. |
