| obv this card is bomb in limited, in T2 it's got tons of potential but right now he may go to BW control as 1 of's or maybe 2, alone he doesnt do much in control besides being big, but it can combo with tons of things and 5 toughness+vigilance plying is very nice. |

it's still a big fat removal target
if the other guy has removal it will hit the angel, not some other creature
it's only good if u also have another creature in play, which doesn't seem very likely for decks that play this.
it's a good card, but for constructed it won't replace the dragons we have now |

I didnt know that Niv-Mizzet was a bomb. i must be lost some where. As far as i know i have only seen him be efectivly used in casual play not competative. You cant compare these 2 cards beacuse they are totally diffrent. you might as well compare it to somthing in its color like Blazing archon.[/quote]
You need to stop playing Magic. Seriously. Now. |

The dragons we have now are rotating out very soon.
So, actually, it will replace them. Pay attention. |

| This and the Dragons will be together for about 3 months. This costs the same as Yosei, and Yosei is all over the place, so how can someone say his cost is too high? |

the angel cannot save the tokens, the angel states when the creature goes to the grave..... the token would be removed prior to the angel ability taking place, its ability is not a replacement effect.

Okay, let's see. It's a 4/5 flier for 6 that doesn't tap to attack...leaving it untapped for you in case a creature you control dies - you tap the angel and get your creature right back.
It's a 4/5 flier for 6 that doesn't tap to attack, leaving it untapped for when your opponent attacks, you block with the angel, put damage on the stack and tap it to steal their creature.
End of turn, you Mortify their Kokusho, tap your angel targeting the Kokusho and when your turn starts, you've got a 4/5 angel and a 5/5 dragon that don't have summoning sickness. Yeah, you're right...she's terrible!
It's a 4/5 flier for 6 - and if you've got 2 in play, their abilities keep the other alive. You'll always have one in play as long as they don't have a global effect.
If you honestly don't see the awesomeness of this card and see that it will be played a LOT in contructed, not just limited, then I'm sorry, but maybe you need to read the card again. |
well actually if they have a global effect and u have 2 in play u can still keep 'em both
1-wrath
2-resp angel 1 ability targeting angel 2
3-angel 2 ability targeting angel 1
wrath or w/e will resolve and out of the dust will come to beautiful 4/5 flyers |

multiple people seem to be bad at reading. for those of you, I will retype the text here:
T: when target creature other than adarkar valkyrie is put into a graveyard this turn, return that card into play under your control.
does it say anywhere that the creature has to be a creature that you control/own?
I agree, that if it could only target your creatures, it would be plain bad, but it sounds like a very nice control creature to me.
Speaking of control, didn't mdj write a nice article about an U/W control deck that afterwards was played on some regionals, and didnot do too bad there?

This card is too powerful (not exactly the same thing as good) any ability like that that warps the rules of magic (dead creatures to the graveyard) is always worth looking at.
It’s important to remember there is a difference between to power of a card and how good it is. The difference is not what the card does but it’s effectiveness at doing it. Plague Wind is a powerful card, Smooth is a good one. Sure Plague Wind's effect is a more powerful compared to Smooth, but because smoother costs less and its instant speed it’s much more flexible and effective. I hope we can all agree this angel is a powerful card; the only question is it good enough to see competitive play.
Honestly I think it’s a really decent card that will see some competitive play but because of the bulky cost, inability to work the turn it comes into play, not being able to save itself will prevent to from becoming as good as it sounds on paper in the current spot removal heavy t2 environment. Kind of like Grand Arbiter Augustin IV in team block; early every played him on their team but because he is so slow and relatively vulnerable he was nearly always taken out with removal before be could really start warping the game.
This guy + Sky Hussar = some silly activates.
Using this guy to steal opponents dieing creatures = perhaps even more silly |

Definitely an awesome card but the only problem is that it does nothing when it gets hit by removal whereas Yosei, and the other Dragons will punish you for it. It requires you to untap with it which really isn't too bad, because that's what Meloku requires you to do and that's a great creature.
To say it's a crap rare means you don't know a card's power level unless you see 'pros' play with it. |

| the valkyrie is awsome, when kamigawa leaves t2 she'll be competing with the sky swallower (personally my favorite) and with skeletal vampire who is used in rav block (dont know why), im hopping to see more cards like her in coldsnap. Stay cool dudes!!! |
