So after lots of testing, this is the control deck I've ended up with.

2 Yosei, the Morning Star
3 Kokusho, the Evening Star
1 Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni
4 Sakura-Tribe Elder
4 Loxodon Hierarch

2 Debtors' Knell
4 Farseek
4 Putrefy
4 Mortify
2 Phyrexian Arena
4 Wrath of God
3 Faith's Fetters

4 Plains
2 Swamp
7 Forest
4 Overgrown Tomb
4 Godless Shrine
1 Miren, the Moaning Well
1 Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree

SB: 3 Cranial Extraction
SB: 3 Castigate
SB: 3 Persecute
SB: 3 Circle of Protection: Red
SB: 3 Crime and Punishment

i seem to still be having a little issue with certain decks, heezy for example, even though I really shouldn't be? Any comments on the deck?

its not a rouge deck, its called beach house control only, your version is very bulky and doesnt contain the best card selections.

Once again, any comments on the DECK. I don't need anyone telling me that its similiar to the 'beach house' or the 'roxodon who gives a flip what the name is" its not that deck. I have the staple cards for the golgari, orhzov, and of course wrath who should ne in any control deck with white, still doesn't make it the same deck. those decks in my opinion failed for main decking 4 mana extractions, and castigates which, although could remove something potential from their hand early on, becake a dead card by round 4 in an aggro filled environment. My deck may seem to have too much creature removal, but besides WoG, every other card can control something else. Early game I mana accelerate into board control, with a turn 3 heiarch optimal in most cases, then spend the next few rounds keeping their board in check until a dragon can hit, or, knell.

this deck is all about the arena, have more, imho it loses to any good deck using blue (owl, vore, heartbeat, UR tronfire, niv-go, UWR control, MUC, UW contol, UWG control), which represents too large a chunk of the decks used for this deck to be successful. i hope you get easy match ups Very Happy

if you dont want to rely on getting zoo all the way to the end then MD castigates (its just not AS effective against aggro, but you can still net a helix or shaman) and i cant stress how good NIGHTMARE VOID is.

i think this deck highlights how easy it is to build a control deck that can beat most aggro but loses to everything else (no offense intended).

gl tho

Iwamori?

Yeah, he'd be a bit of a help.

As for the deck, I can't say it's that great of a build.

Please tell me you're gonna be at Orlando and talk everyone into playing this. Very Happy j/k

Im not sure that I like baroque art... I find it rather shallow and pedantic. Im a big fan of el greco though, and some would include his art in the baroque category. Modern art has always intrigued me. Though I consider myself to be a post-modern conceptualist, with a bit of nouveau/impressionist influence, my favorite is Rock and Roll band art, as it captures something that can't really be put into words.

I have been running a similar deck and it seems to be working just fine. My list is:

Creatures
2 yosei
2 kokusho
2 kodama of the north tree
4 heirarch
4 BoP
1 arashi
4 giant soilfuge
2 angel of despair

Spells
3 congregation at dawn
4 mortify
3 putrefy
1 debtor's knell
2 farseek
2 sensei devining top

Land
7 forest
4 temple garden
4 overgrown tomb
4 godless shrine
1 miren
1 shizo
1 okina
2 tendo

this build may seem odd, but believe me it packs a big punch.
the solifuges may seem out of place, but they do fit. for one thing they push damage through. solifuge is always top priority on the blocking list which leaves your other beaters free to hit. congregation helps when the deck loses steam as it can sometimes tend to do. The arashi is key as well, especially against azorius. i like your sb, but im going to tell you that magnivore is a bitch for this deck so maybe sacred ground, but thats up to you.

From what I can see this deck is just a LOT of beaters with nothing to stop aggro. Fine, you mortify and putrefy but this is not enough to stop decent aggro decks.

All your creatures cost lots of mana apart from birds and giant solifuge. Solifuge is crappy against against aggro as it will trade with a 1 drop most of the time. All your other threats require a lot of color specific mana and you have very litte mana acceleration or fixing. You have 4 birds (which may die to aggro attacks) and 2 farseek.
