If you are inable to host due to a router or a firewall or some other condition, try some of these easy options:

If you have a router:
http://www.portforward.com
http://www.magic-league.com/guide/router.php

If you have a firewall:
Turn if off.
http://www.magic-league.com/guide/firewall.php

If all of the above does not work, or you are lazy:
http://www.hamachi.cc/download
http://www.magic-league.com/guide/hamachi.php

All else fails or you don't like Apprentice:
Play MWS!

Magic-League has all the answers. You just gotta look.

There is nothing that could fail to make me convert to MWS. I already tainted my pc with IRC.

As a suggestion, it might be nice to update the firewall section with info on opening certain ports. For instance, if you use NIS, you can choose certain ports to open and close, as opposed to blanket connections.
