|
|
LordHawk and myself are beginning plans to work on Appr2. As you may or may not know, Lordhawk had worked in the past on an Appr2 program, but we could not release it due to legal issues with some of the other contributors. Due to situations beyond our control, it is impossible to release now, because another person destroyed the code for it, and destroyed the backups.
So, we are going to start from scratch. We are going to try and keep the play as close to the original appr as possible, and add new features. We will try keep the speedy, intuitive interface, and fix all the old bugs.
Apart from being our announcement of this project, we would like to ask what NEW features you players would like to see added.
In addition, if you have experiance with the programming language C++, contact LordHawk or myself to see if you might be able to contribute to the project.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post and reply with your suggestions. |

The dream of using wishes i obvious i think,
i'd like to see another sealed deck building possibility,
so you can maybe drag the cards in a field and arrange them there(for manacurve reasons etc) |

its my impression that the main advantages of MWS over apprentice are the ability to access the sideboard in-game, and the fact that the shuffler cant handle BoW decks.
multiplayer would be awesome, but it is a big leap
the occasional bug, such as crashing and making it appear your opponent has dozens of cards in his hand, would be great if they could be removed

| Hmm, right of the top of my head: wishes, cards with cardboard-card proportions, multiplayer would be nice obv now that its sanctioned and PTQ format, it also could give the team thing a boost, Battle of Whits compatibility, morphs with right color (ie colorless) and right stats (ie 2/2), apprentice 2 should memorize the decks folder even after started newly, thats basically all i would need and it should run fast even on crappy computers. |

| Please leave the card proportions as they are because it let's us have many cards on board. I can only think of 2 things: correct the bugs and make wishes usable. And try no to make it like mws. Actually stay as far away from it as possible. Don't add all those 9283472 useless functions. |

Cool!
I'd suggest adding nothing more than just fixing Apprentice bugs and to allow sideboarding. Then the next priority should be allowing play through a server, so firewalls and routers can be circumvented.
Adding pictures, better design, multiplayer etc, that's all not really necessary at first. I'd focus on the basics first.
Then a beta can also be released sooner. I've seen too many projects strand on over-perfectionizing while there are still too many bugs in the basic workings. |

Also, maybe the ability to point to targets, same thing you can do in MWS |

| Really looking forward to multiplayer, but i think that will be the biggest change that is wanted. Other than that and the wishes thing I would have to say that it would be nice to have the cards actually tap instead of just saying tapped on them. A better looking interface would also be nice. Oh and one more minor thing. If you make it so that you can attach equipment and enchant creature cards to creature, make sure that if counters are added to the equipment (meaning jitte) they are visible and not hidden by the creature that it is equiping. Good Luck guys! |

stay as far away from MWS as possible- keep the interface simple and clean.
Some things you want to include:
-Battle of Wits-sized deck construction
-Wishes legal
-When making Tokens, include an option to make X amount of copies (IE when I want to make 7 Illusion tokens off meloku)
-Tapped creatures should actually turn sideways when attacking
-+1/+1/charge counters should be represented more elegantly than just a big grey box |

| Eagle: a day late and a dollar short. The "go" programmer jb is working on apprentice 2 later on, so you should go speak with him. |

Undo last draw draw button
Show last card drawn button
Draw from bottom of deck button
Al these in mws save certain problems. |

Well, besides fixing the bugs I don't really have any ideas, except I don't really like the idea of things turning sideways; I always found that annoying in other m:tg programs.
But what I can do is help with the programming aspect, as I'm quite well-versed in C++. You can e-mail me at insanityincorporated (at) yahoo.com |
